[NYC] 1st Thursday BiRequest Meeting: Bisexual Laws of Attraction
Thursday May 5th 2011 at the NYC LGBT Center
It seems such a simple question, "Who are we attracted to and why?"
But so-called "laws of attractions" never apply to every single person. And for the Bisexual body, the attractions are seemingly limitless. So this week we delve into our own personal tastes and desires, in search of an answer to that simple question.
No one can argue against this fact: that our attractions, like our tastes, continue to change and develop over time. As we grow older our tastes perhaps refine in some areas, while in others they widen to take in a much broader sampling of experiences and flavors. So it is with our sexual and affectional interests as well.
Let's spend some time thinking about our own individual histories: what kind of expectations did we have for that very first time? Then, how did gender play a role for what we wanted to happen? Perhaps we fantasized a certain romantic evening with a partner of our same sex. Were these the same or different to those we had with our opposite or other sexed partners?
As we gain experiences, we must make choices and have a developing idea of what will turn us on.. from a smile to a certain well-placed tickle. So we must inquire, how have our attractions melded and molded over time to help inform those choices? Perhaps we had a bad experience with one person, and so our attraction is now downgraded in one area. Likewise a great orgasm in an unexpected place can be a different kind of game changer.
Join our famously supportive, BiRequest crowd for an engaging conversation. Share the details of your magnetism as part of your orientation, and consider the variety of turns your personal compass has taken. Share your experiences and special insights, or just hang out and listen to what others have to say.
Open to all bisexual/pansexual and bi-friendly folks, of any age, race, gender, sexual, affectional or relational orientation. Ours is a tiny example of the rainbow; a safe space to share your perspective and insights into all things bisexual.
And if you can't join us for the meeting, catch up with us for dinner, round 8:15-ish, at . . .
Good Stuff Diner 109 West 14th Street (north side of 14th St, just west of 6th Ave) ~ a short walk from the Center
People who can't make it to the meeting are invited to join our private online group BiRequest on Yahoo
