Ich bin bald nach der Wiedervereinigung in die Chemie-Region Leuna gefahren. Es kam mir vor, wie eine Welt, die vergessen hatte unterzugehen. Es rauchte, zischte und stank, und dazwischen sah man Menschen, die tatsächlich dort arbeiten mussten.
I traveled soon after the German reunification to the center of the East German chemical industry around the city of Leuna. It seemed like a world that had forgotten to perish. It was smoking, hissing and stinking, and among all that there were people who actually had to work there.
