idk if you’ve already talked abt it but how was giving birth during the pandemic? was it scary? was ur partner allowed to be there with you?
I can’t really imagine a scenario in which giving birth isnt scary. And the additional uncertainty of the world was hard to navigate but I was lucky that the pandemic was more under control and protocols were in place by the time I needed to give birth. My husband was able to be with me the whole time, which was so valuable. We couldnt have any visitors at the hospital, but that was actually kind of nice given how worn out we were by the whole thing.
There were actually some silver linings to giving birth in these weird times: I was able to work remotely during my last trimester, when I was the most physically exhausted and in need of regular doctors visits. My family was able to come stay with us for quite a long time around the birth because they were all working remotely.
I’ve struggled a bit with anxiety since the birth, and while a global pandemic certainly isn’t helping, I imagine that is fairly typical for all new parents.
