Itara walked up the stairs to Darius's main office slowly. She had heard him enter a few mints before; the door opened and closed, footsteps across the floor, the scrape of a chair. She heard everything in this house whether she wanted to or not. Now, as she reached the main floor she could pick up the light wafts of smoke in the air as she leaned around the corner to see her love seated at his desk, illuminated only by lamplight.
"Darius?" She called out, as she slowly walked forward. Still feeling weak she had hardly left the house and she was still dressed in her pajamas as she approached him now. Come to stand next to him she put a hand on his shoulder. "Your mother stopped by." she smiled as her hand fell away.
With lithe gracefulness and surprising speed for someone recently ill, Itara was in his lap in an instant, straddling his legs. Draping her arms around his neck she leaned in for a heartfelt kiss. "Happy nameday love," she smiled pulling her lips away only a hair. "I'm afraid I had neither the time nor the ability to give you a proper gift. But, mayhap.... If Doctor Darius is willing to clear me," she smirked and gave him a quick teasing peck, "I can give you something."
