@erynlasgalenelvellon is getting a starter for Q’s Birthday
Q was surrounded by his friends in what Julia had finally agreed was an acceptable birthday party. Eliot held his hand under the table, Margo at his side. Julia had her arms around his neck as she stood behind him. Alice had taken time off from her Library adventures, Kady was kicked back in one of the sofa’s in the living room halfway to sleeping off an epic hangover, Josh had brought him cake he hoped would approach God level, and even Penny was there... mostly being a good boyfriend to Julia, but it still felt like some sort of progress between the two of them. It was the sort of birthday that Q could handle. Something that felt more like the early nights at the Physical Kid’s Cottage and less like the awkward parties Julia had thrown him over the years filed with potential hook ups and too much noise.
As Josh sat the cake down in front of him at the table, Quentin couldn’t help but feel guilty for even having a birthday wish. But, he did. The same wish he had had since he was old enough to actually want anything in some sort of conceit way.
I wish my life was a story book tale
And sure, maybe that fairy tale life felt a lot like the present, he still had to give his wish a go. Maybe just to give them all a break from the chaos of magic.
He felt Eliot’s hand slip free of his, and was about to say something about it when he opened his eyes. He was still sitting at a table, but distinctly not the one he had just been preparing to eat cake at. No... he was somewhere he might have thought was Fillory, but it was too... delicate? Too perfect... If he didn’t know any better he would say he was in a Lord of The Rings book.
He was lost... and then... a mother fucking Elf walked by.
Yeah... there was no way this was a coincidence.
