These Spiderman-themed cookies are perfect for a birthday party! They feature a marbled red and black design with iconic web details, capturing the essence of everyone's favorite superhero.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Red gel food coloring. Black gel food coloring. White icing for web details. Edible candy eyes.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Divide the dough into two portions. Add red gel food coloring to one portion and black gel food coloring to the other. Knead until the colors are evenly distributed. Take a small amount of each colored dough and roll them into thin ropes. Twist the red and black ropes together to create a marbled effect. Shape the marbled dough into spider-shaped cookies and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack. Once the cookies are cool, use white icing to create web details on the cookies. Attach edible candy eyes using a small amount of icing. Allow the icing to set before serving the Spiderman cookies at the birthday party.
