Today is the launch of @nannybills at @_birthdays, and I can tell you you're in for a treat. Especially because of this, The Dalston Dip. Smashed beef patty glazed with mustard, American cheese, caramelised onions, burger sauce, served with a pot of gravy. £9.50. This is my favourite burger from Nanny Bills so far, mostly because of the gravy. Now here's the thing, Dip & Flip are my favourite burger, that's not being taken away, BUT I think Darren's gravy is better than theirs 🙊. It's thicker and meatier. This is the sixth track from our debut album. We started writing this song very late one night. Originally it was the drone that you hear at the start, with this kind of gut-wrenchingly numb vocal whispered over the top. We slowly added layers to it, and very delicately it grew. It's about chasing something over and over again, that you can almost touch but never hold on to - kind of like the ribbon on a balloon as it slips through your fingers. It's about saying goodbye and embracing the fragility of life. This is 'Dead Balloons'. We are premiering a track a day from our forthcoming debut album (out 20th May), along side an image from the onDeadWaves interactive photography exhibition, currently running at Marios Cafe in #London.
