Unfortunately, the chances of Christopher being able to attend the birth of our baby is very slim. He deploys to Afghanistan in September and he serves out there for 8 and a half months, our little one is due in November. We are keeping our fingers, toes, everything crossed that he can make it back but i'm not getting my hopes up. It breaks my heart that he's not going to be there as he is my rock but he is going to be an amazing Father to our child and we have the rest of our lives to shower this baby in love.
Taking this into consideration, if Christopher can't attend the birth, i've decided on who i want as my birthing partners. My Mother, obviously and my best friend Steph. I don't know what i would do without these two, they've been by my side through thick and thin and i couldn't think of two better birthing partners. With Chris deploying to Afghanistan, Steph is going to move in so when i go into labour, if it happens at home or through the night, i won't be by myself. I keep joking to her that i'm going to buy her a snorkeling set to put down by her side of the bed for if my waters break in bed, haha.
It's going to be tough but i know these two will be able to help me through, no matter what.
Have you decided on who is going to be your birthing partner? What where the reasons behind the choice?
