Hey! When I'm reading a book I don't usually have the luxury of having the opportunity to ask the author questions about their work, so I'm taking full advantage of your ask box! I've just finished MWTW, and was wondering what took Lexa so long to kiss Clarke?
Hey there - thanks for reading! There’s no short answer to that I’m afraid (and I’m enroute to the airport) but the major reasons include (a) Lexa has taught herself never to want things (honestly that’s the biggest reason), (b) she’s terrified, (c ) she has no idea if Clarke’s even into girls and might not be given her response while they were playing truth or dare, (d) Clarke’s just lost her whole family and is super vulnerable and Lexa doesn’t want to hurt her or put pressure on her, and (e) Lexa’s had so few close friends that she genuinely doesn’t know if their friendship is normal (or if blonde American girls just act this touchy-feely) or if there’s more there.
If you want more (I’ve talked around this subject a little in the past months) you can have a look at my lexa!meta posts (or all mwtw meta) and/or check out the two Lexa-POV ficlets I’ve done.
