Biscuit’s Super Worm Moon feast!
The bois
Biscuit says it's Real Leopard Gecko Hours!!!
Biscuit associates the tongs with food, naturally, and he will go into hunting mode when he sees them! I wanted to get a video of him doing the whole "food face" thing but then he just went CHOMP on em! He got plenty of mealworms after that though.
Happy Halloween from Biscuit! He hopes you also get many delicious worms!
I'm taking a break from my tumblr hiatus to show off Biscuit's new tank! My parents gave me an exoterra large low tank for my birthday in late April! First pic: whole tank view. I tied up some fake vines to the screen top to give some extra cover. The left side is the cool side and the right is the warm side. Second - fourth pic: extra cover on the right side of the tank! I got a fake fern from Michaels (on sale) and made a makeshift stand for it using a piece of a drink carried and some marbles from the dollar tree so he can climb on top of it or try to climb the plant and it won't fall (he does that every now and then) Fifth & sixth pic: a closer look under the plant cover on the right side. He's got his humid hide and some stacked up cork bark to climb and hide in as well as a piece of driftwood attached to a heavy triangle of marble. It was gifted to me from a friend that also keeps reptiles! Biscuit likes to climb up there and just hang out. I also have a couple of fake plant mats I got from Michaels as well as some smooth stones for texture enrichment. Seventh & eighth pic: the middle of the tank. His water dish has some vines above so he can feel more secure when drinking. There's a pebble mat I got from Michaels and a small cow skull for decoration. He kicks it around quite a bit or he will perch on it sometimes! I cut one of the grass mats in half and put one on either side of the water dish. There's also a rough stone back there. You can see in the full pic that I keep his food dish in the middle of the tank beside the pebble mat as well. Ninth pic: his favorite cave hide is on the warm side! Behind the cave I made an additional hide with two pieces of cork bark. He likes to snooze in there and climb on top of it! Since this is an exoterra it came with the styrofoam background and Biscuit frequently climbs up the background!! Tenth pic: the boy himself! Some notes- he's been even more active in the larger tank with all the cover I added! It's so cool seeing him out and about exploring in the evening!
Today I cleaned and redecorated Biscuits tank! (I also weighed him, he's 58 grams now) I added some texture enrichment and rearranged a climbing area for him. I also got him one of those ExoTerra gecko caves to use as his humid hide with a mix of eco earth and spag moss. When I put him back in his tank he started exploring almost immediately! Can you see him in the last picture?
