Queer Eye
I was a little skeptical of Queer Eye when I first heard about it. I was worried it was going to be ‘positive’ for white gay men and no one else, but my fiancé and I finally decided to give it a try and folks. Oh.
I have cried at least once almost every episode. This show makes me so happy, and it touches my heart so fucking much. I really struggle sometimes living in the super conservative tiny town in the Midwest and seeing people who are out and proud and don’t try to hide even in the smallest towns with people you know have never had a positive conversation about the queer community is just so powerful. It’s given me energy and positivity, and I’ve really needed that, especially lately. I didn’t realize how much all this negativity had weighed on me until it was lifted a bit, and they talk about so many issues that are just so important. They’re not perfect about everything, but I think they do a pretty great job.
Anyway go watch Queer Eye, it’s absolutely amazing!
