The absurdity when Demisexuals/Aromantics are demanding LGBTQ-community of inclusion and validation, taking time, focus and energy from a community in a time of increased violence, murder and prosecution of its members.
In a time where LGBT-rights are under attack, and where LGBT-people are being persecuted, abused, imprisoned, murdered around the world. I find it very upsetting how much time and effort that is demanded by the aromantics, demisexuals to be included in the LGBT-community. Learn the history of Stonewall and how the LGBT-rights movement and queer-movement came to exist. Learn why it is vital that the community has a clear purpose and agenda for the protection of those who have been killed and are still getting killed today. Be humble and realise that Aromantics and demisexuals are not prosecuted and killed. Sometimes they are even the ideal of heteronormativity( opposition of which, is the one thing that unites all things queer). inclusion of demisexuals and aromantics into LGBTQ makes the division unclear of what unites us, of the fight for our rights that can never rest. It also threatens to dissolve the movement from within, confusing and misguiding the debate. No demisexueals and aromantics, I don’t believe in your inclusion in LGBT. You have identities, which is an important part to feel connection and validation through a community. But I don’t think the LGBT-community have any obligation to include you. If you truly are allies of the LGBT-community, if you truly learned our history, you should understand how your own validation of identity should not get priority over the thousands of compromised individuals fearing for their lives everyday. You do not share their oppression, you do not share their experience, you do not share their fight.
