Got to meet one of North America's most genetically diverse bison herds up close and personal today.
From the perspective of a clanless hyena, large herbivores like this are terrifying! But god, they were so relaxed around the truck as we cruised by, really beautiful creatures. I'm so glad I live so close to multiple conservation centers so I can see them whenever.
Do you play Ecos La Brea (Roblox)? Do you hate when bison chase you down relentlessly until you die?
Boy do I have the group for you! Welcome to Morabi Herd. We are a new bison herd that roams the Californian tar pits, we play in a realistic way that includes rules such as;
No relentlessly pursuing predators, once they are out of sight from the herd you give up the chase (Bluff charge first too!)
NO harassing predators once they achieve a kill. Once one of us falls the dominant bull will signal to flee. Stay with the herd and flee.
We go to migration no matter what (This includes west river!)
1 to 5 ratio of bulls to cows, this is to encourage the herd to work together to keep predators away.
We dont mix pack! We will move away from foreign Bison, Peccary, and Western Horse herds. Nor will we team up with Saber prides or Wolf packs
We also encourage brawling for dominance! This is a roleplay only feature right now as the Ecos dev team works on this feature, but bulls may challenge eachother by using the 5 (aggressive) call and charging eachother.
When traveling in a smaller herd we will opt into traveling in a straight line, however if we are in a larger group we will bunch together more with 3 people beside eachother. Beta bulls will guard the sides of the herd, and the back. A beta bull can use the “3” (friendly) call with a head swing to let someone know they need to catch up to the herd. The dominant bull will take the lead.

Mastering the morning commute is all about timing and patience. With more than 4,000 bison at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, viewing them from inside the car is often the best and safest option. Just remember, these wild animals are unpredictable, and much like people in traffic, it’s best to give them space. Be sure to pull over and avoid blocking the road to watch wildlife, and please do stay in the car if you encounter one of these incredible “jams”.
