I don’t think anyone really knows this but I used to run a depression blog that I used to “cope.”
I’m not going to speak for anyone else, because I am not you and everyone heals and copes differently. I just want to ask you to consider that if you follow a lot of “dark, depression” blogs to cope that maybe this might not be helping the way you think it is. I had no idea how much it wasn’t helping until I gradually began to add more positive content to my dash, including interests specific to me. I realized when I saw these posts, I felt better than the darker ones and slowly began unfollowing the depression blogs as well as deleted my old depression blog.
Tumblr feels so much lighter for me. I feel so much lighter. I understand that following others in dark places can help you feel less alone and more validated. I get that because I’ve been there. I just think it’s easy to fall into that in a way that isn’t healthy and can do more harm to you than you think. Please take care of yourself the best that you can. <3
