tried to get updates for a client at work and the answer iwaited like 90 min for was "We don't have that application" AKA THEY FUCKING LOST IT. HOW DO YOU LOSE AN ENTIRE FUCKING STUDENT LOAN PAYMENT PLAN APPLICATION

I'm incredibly frustrated with the way my boss treats me sometimes and it's hard to articulate why because out of context someone saying "figure it out" isn't like some horrible insult but because of things he's said previously, I know that when he responds to a question with "figure it out" it means he thinks I'm being lazy and giving up and trying to make everyone else do my work. In reality I'm relatively quick to ask questions because I'd really prefer to do things right the first time and not have to go back and fix things later and because he often makes me wait an hour or so for an answer so I figure it's better to ask my questions as soon as possible even if I might still figure it out on my own so that if I don't figure it out myself and he does bother to answer, I might still have time in my shift to act on it.

Also like, you can't get pissy about people asking questions and then also make fun of them for not having information that could only be obtained by asking questions. You can't have it both ways.

Guys, absolutely have the unearned confidence of a white man when applying for jobs. EXCEPT if the job specifically requires certification you do not have. You cannot just fake your way through having medical licenses. You want it that much look into what getting a medical assistant certification or nursing license entails before applying for a job. Like I’m sorry I get you’d love to be an embryologist or speech pathologist and are working towards it but you are not qualified right now.

A customer who has been inflicting psychic damage on me every single day (yes, every single day. for the last 8 months. she’s there. Every. Single. Day.) at work came in today wearing a t-shirt that simply said

Work

Has been horrible this week. So I’ll keep posting pictures of Washington.

Over the last week our dispatch lead has left to work at a store, one of the member services leads accepted a position working Reception (won’t start for a few weeks), one of the two dispatch supervisors got fired, one of the six member services supervisors is moving in to replace him, and our third shift supervisor is on PTO for the week. There’s now gaps in supervisor coverage for Thanksgiving and the day after and I’m fully expecting to be voluntold to take at least one of those days (to which I’ll find a polite way to say Fuck You I Have Plane Tickets). I also got my lunch an hour late and have had four escalated calls tonight. Oh, and there’s some IT issue with the National branch that’s affecting a bunch of different areas but apparently not really us, though two different IT guys have called in the last three hours to double and triple check and given us instructions to call them if anything changes.

Only upsides is that our only tow company for about a 30-mile stretch of a major freeway is finally off the tow restriction they’ve been on for a solid 2 months, and I got about an extra $700 in my take-home pay this paycheck thanks to an overtime day and a bonus for the project that’s eaten up the last 5 months of my work life.
