Fuji was quite surprised to receive a message from Ren. It's been a while, and they didn't meet in private yet. Changing this sounded like a good idea. There was something among the doctor that intrigued him.

Txt: Feel free to come, there's still some time before my set for tonight starts.

He looked at his phone for some seconds before he added:

Txt: Looking forward to see you.

Because it's been the truth. His fingers even prickled lightly in eager anticipation as he grabbed his drink again.

When Minhyun arrived at the clinic, his routine was always the same. Holding his morning coffee in one hand and his car keys in the other, he greeted everyone he passed on his way to his office. Moments later, his assistant followed, carrying his white coat and the day’s itinerary.

“We have the new doctor coming today, right?” he asked, settling into his chair and checking the calendar on his tablet. “Alright. We have a patient arriving soon, and the new doctor will be here afterward. Please ensure everything is ready for the patient and give the doctor a proper welcome when they arrive. I’ll go over everything with him and show him around once I’m done with my first consultation,” he instructed her.

As always, his assistant efficiently carried out his instructions. The first patient entered the office, and just as Minhyun was finishing up, she peeked inside, silently signaling that the new doctor had arrived.

"Excuse me, is this seat available?" Ren asked gently, noticing the woman was deeply focused on her materials and hoping his sudden presence hadn't startled her.

The young woman was reading one of the textbooks when the other approached her, prompting Misaki to raise her eyes from the lines of text to look at him before giving a note. "Yes, it is. Let me clear it for you!" She then quickly took her bag and coat from the seat so he could sit down.

Misaki lifted her gaze from the confinements of her heavy anatomy text boogs. "Studying for the upcoming finals. What about you, Ren-kun?~" She smiled all happily to see her dear Ren, truly glad he came to join her, even if her current activity wasn't of the fun kind.

CARING FOR THE SICK PROMPTS.

For how long had he been sick? Now that the question was asked directly, Minhyun wasn’t going to lie. He hadn’t mentioned it before simply because he didn’t have time—his schedule had been packed back to back, and pushing through a bit of fatigue wasn’t exactly new to him. He’d handled the fever and the weakness well enough, or so he thought…

He let out a slow breath and stretched his arms overhead, only to drop them back down with a quiet exhale, sinking into the chair like the motion had drained what little energy he had left.

“Three days, I think,” he answered, tone thoughtful but composed. “Just a fever and some fatigue.” His body didn’t ache as much as it had the day before, and in his mind, that meant he was on the mend.

“The fever’s been messing with me a little, to be honest,” he added, a slight grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. “But I didn’t want to turn it into a thing. There’s always something going on—I couldn’t afford to slow down.”

He turned to Ren with a small, reassuring smile. “It’s nothing serious.” His voice remained calm, deliberate, even if his body was clearly fighting him.
