Oh, BTW, since I didn’t see em say it, @bittergrapes has decided to exclusively call the Miz “Big Booty Mike” from now on.

Thank you so much for the response! I was surprised not to see anoles on your list, I was always under the assumption that they were easy to care for, but I'm glad I asked instead of getting in over my head! Like I said in my first post, I probs won't be getting a lizard for a few years (or may never) and wanted to be sure I did my homework before even thinking of adding one to my family. Thank you again!
No probs! And yeah, I left off anoles because anoles are terrible pets. Which is not what the pet store will tell you! Super fragile, super picky, all wild caught so they come with a nice fat parasite load that coupled with the stress of captivity tends to cut their lifespan drastically- and super cheap because they’re caught in bulk and are easy to ship.
Hey! What lizard would you suggest for someone who has never kept herps before? I'm thinking I may get one a few years down the road and want to research now so I know what I'm getting into.
Gargoyle geckos, crested geckos, leopard geckos, African fat-tailed geckos, and blue-tongued skinks if you are interested in something a tetch larger! They’re all really even-tempered animals and cute as heck to boot- and their care isn’t particularly complicated!
pls tell me you love pigeons as much as I think you do because pigeons are hands-down best birds, #1 bird in universe, even if there is another planet with avian lifeforms, they cannot compete with the fluffy cooing goodness that is pigeon
pigeons are the greatest thing this earth has and ever will have given us
It's John Cena the lobster!
Late Night Thinking
I’m sitting here, realizing I’m approaching about 5 years on this website, and I’m also drawing closer and closer to finally figuring out who I am. I know that journey is never truly done and all, but I feel like core parts of my identity are finally cemented.
I doubt they’ll ever read this, but I just want to thank genderhexe and bittergrapes for being role models to me on this giant self-identity journey. I’ve followed them since almost the very beginning and both of their blogs taught me so much about the different kinds of people that exist in the world, the problems with our society, and more importantly have given me a desire to be the change to make those problems go away. I have no idea what kind of person I could have become had it not been for their open-minded education. I have learned so much about myself through them and I am forever grateful.
Also, if you’re not following them, what are you doing.
As someone who identifies as agender, "agender woman" isn't really transphobic because some agender people might define themselves in that way. As in "sometimes I identify as agender, sometimes I identify as a woman" sort of thing because bigender/trigender/genderfluid identities can include agender and other non-binary identities. So I don't wtf this anon is saying because identifying someone by biology is pretty annoying anyway.
thanks!yeah, that is something i hadn’t fully considered, but is also v v important
biology-centric gender stuff is generally something i try to avoid, especially when referring to someone else, because it makes it super easy to out/misgender/endanger someone
