We are happy to present the 2nd edition of our podcast series that combines excerpts of live recordings from -OUS artists, as well as guests we've been lucky to invite to perform at our shows.

«-OUS Podcast No.2: Bit-Tuner / Furtherset» combines an excerpt of Bit-Tuner's «Arabian Nights» live performance in Gozo/Malta with Furtherset's extended rework of «Ask Your Existential Core» that was created for UniversoAssisi Festival. 

Bit-Tuner's «Arabian Nights» project is based on field recordings from Cairo, as well as samples from tapes bought at local markets and music produced in Egypt's megacity during a residency. The recording presented here was made at «Dorothea.space» - am art space in Gozo/Malta - at a performance night where -OUS artists performed alongside local artists. A live version of «Arabian Nights» was released on tape and digitally via -OUS.

The 2nd part of the podcast presents an extended rework of Furtherset's track «Ask Your Existential Core», originally released on tape and digitally as part of his EP «To Alter and Affect». This extended version was recorded during a residency in Assisi for the Universo Assisi Festival (curated by Joseph Grima). It was performed at the top of Monte Subasio, which lies at the bottom of Mortaro Grande.

The single «Passage / Irisia» announces Bit-Tuner’s 7th solo-album «EXO», scheduled for January 2020. Shifting his focus towards atmospheric storytelling, Bit-Tuner presents a widescreen, spacious and nearly beatless opus. Based on field-recordings, synthesizer pads and fluttering arpeggios, «Passage» resembles a winding descent into a weightless but fragile science fiction world. «Irisia» is a call from way below: a thunder-like growl from the underworld wraps itself around a floating choir-drone.

In his energy-driven music and concerts, Switzerland based artist Bit-Tuner oscillates between Bass Music, Electronica and Techno, while he pulls his tracks together to become a gloomy, but euphoric bass monster.

Bit-Tuner stands for heavy beats, blown up bass sounds, vicious dreamscapes, acid-driven melodies and disarming harmonies. He has has collaborated with and/or remixed artists like Sole (Anticon), Sensational (WordSound/NYC), Oddateee (Deadverse Rec.), !Mediengruppe Bitnik, Filewile (Mouthwatering Rec.) or Bleubird (Florida). Live he has shared the stages with Acts like Kode 9, Jon Hopkins, Otto von Schirach, Ben Frost, Jimi Tenor, Modeselektor, Kelpe, Shackleton, Actress, The Haxan Cloak and Zomby.
