Windowpane Oyster (Placuna placenta)
...a species of Placunid oyster which is known to occur from the shallows of the Gulf of Aden around India, east to Malaysia and the southern South China Sea. They are also known from around the Philippines where they are especially abundant around the province of Capiz. Windowpane oysters are typically found in muddy or sandy shores, bays, coves, and lagoons to depths of around 100 m (330 ft). Like most bivalves, P. placenta is a filter feeder, taking in water around it and filtering out zooplankton for food.
