I can’t decide if I like how this looks, or if I need to revisit some numbers to adjust the fit (particularly regarding the total height of the sock and the fit at the ankle and foot). It gives a really cozy vibe, though...
Seeing red.
Finally photographed!
Yarn: Unplanned Peacock Studio Silk + Merino Laceweight (80% merino wool, 20% silk) Colorway: Denim Construction: Top-down, patterned heel Designed for: Volks SD10 long-legged boys & SD13 girls (shown with Volks SD10 long-legged boy body + default feet)
Prototyping.
The short white version (on the left) is 100% merino wool; the gray and long white versions (right) are 100% alpaca. I like the dreamy, soft look of the alpaca, especially in person, but the merino offers crisper stitch definition so that the swirl pattern doesn’t get as lost. Hm...
I also wonder if the bobbles on every swirl are too much? I could make it every other “row” of swirls gets bobbles... or alternate left and right...
Quickie/messy shots of the finished prototype. Is the design too weird, I wonder?
What do you think so far?
Sneak peek. They’re done, but I need to find the time and energy to actually photograph them properly on a doll. Hopefully that will be this weekend...
