I’ve had this idea for a long time. Soulmate AU where the last words your soulmate says to you are written on your skin.

Post-IW, Tony figures out Strange was his soulmate because “Tony... it was the only way” is written on his skin. What Tony doesn’t know is that Strange and Peter can see Tony from the realm of the soul gem, and they witness Tony mourning them (including Tony trying to find out more about Strange, but also being grateful Strange never had to find out because Tony is Tong).

Then Thanos loses and everyone is freed. Cue some awkward back peddling on Tony’s part and a very determined to get his man Strange, plus Peter cheering them on.
