There's no Plantation like a "Black-Run" Plantation.
A Black-run Plantation, can you imagine that?
Imagine the alternative Emancipation Day. The Massa stands at the gate with his valued Black overseer.
He reaches his hand out toward the overseer and in his hand are the keys to the plantation. The overseer says, "I'll take it from here."
His "I'll take it from here" means that he'll carry on the paradigm and some of the methods. He'll inovate and create new methods, but certain prejudices and hierarchies will remain. And of course he will not be the actual owner of the plantation, just the administrator, the innovator, the overseer.
