Don’t think I ever announced it on here but I became a Librarian last year and today is my 1 year anniversary of being in the position!

It’s been pretty fun so far but I am an introvert and therefore not a very sociable person so hosting programs alone is still tough. The CEO of our library system (who is also Black) gave advice to some of us who had just become librarians. She said to be a great librarian you have to be great with people and I’m trying my best to figure how that looks for someone like me.

Also I kinda got in trouble because I let it slip that I skim/don’t read my emails and they won’t let me forget it (so much so my supervisor even put it in my 1 year review). In my defense we get so many emails and I’m always making sure I’m keeping busy at work even when it’s slow and I don’t sit at my desk often so when I am at a computer or at my desk I forget to check or don’t feel like reading everything. But I know I need to do better in that area and knowing what’s actively going on in our library system as a whole will help me to do my job better (as my supervisors have also said).

My bad you didn’t even ask for all that 😅 I just be rambling sometimes
