QUESTION: Why are Black folks always the ones who have to “just get over” everything?
When it’s Enslavement/Jim Crow: “oh just get over it”
When it’s a celebrity or politician saying or implying the n-slur: “oh just get over it”
When it’s a racist joke or stereotype: “oh just get over it”
That word has over 400 years of generational trauma and bleak history attached to it. The effects of racism STILL impact people to this day in every single aspect of life. Unless you are Black, you will never understand and therefore should never accept apologies on our behalf. No, we will never get over it, not until society as a whole makes a collective effort to dismantle this current system that is foundationally built on racism and g-¢¡de, and replace it with something more humane.
Listen to Black voices, especially when we’ve been hurt.

SEARCH ⓘ buttered brown and pretty in pink — britain can't get enough of you. ── ❪ fluff + hint of smut — ft. anime nerds, interracial relationship, kuro gyaru girl, special post for my people <3 : britain dalton × black_female!reader ❫
ps. britain deserves the biggest apology.
❤︎. anime conventions lived in britain's veins, in fact, he met you there! he wasn't a fan of pink until he saw you. pink didn't dull your chocolate brown skin. it highlighted you, it belonged to you. you stood out without even noticing, in your insane, avant-garde gyaru look. it told him what exactly you are, fearless yet free. he adored that.
I believe fully that one significant reason there always is some great effort to push Black people out of geek/nerd/alternative spaces is because white people in these spaces are forced to come face to face with the fact that whatever harshness they had to deal with for being who they are, Black people have to deal with that plus racism, and because everything has to be a contest, their response is to be cruel and make Black people unwelcome.

what is going on??? why do i keep on seeing ppl do racist shit with Alastor and or black hellaverse fans days apart???
first i witness a black hellaverse fan get so much antiblack rhetoric hurled at them and Alastor in their comments and qrts to the point where said black fan deleted the tweet due to it understandably being to overwhelming to them for pointing out the hypocrisy combined with internalized racism and the double standards the hatedom has when it comes to Alastor and his blackness,
then i around a day or two later i see another one of these performative fake woke ass mfs take screenshots of human alastor and editing his skin in said screenshots to white, blatantly whitewashing him to
“prove that he was only made black at the last minute/prove that he doesn’t even look black”
and tried whitesplaing to the black ppl calling them out, telling said black ppl about how what they didn’t wasn’t actually racist and super ok to do because it involved hazbin hotel,
AND THEN days later i come across yet ANOTHER one of these performative airheads putting Alastor(a morally grey androgynous black man who lived through one of the worst eras to exist in as a black person especially a mixed black person)
on the same level as racist white misogynistic male characters such as homelander, bear from obsession, thragg from invincible, ect. and saying that Alastor was “made to pander to incels”…
why is it so hard for these ppl to be normal about Alastor???
yall claim that Viv made him to villainize black ppl and black culture yet here u are harassing any black person that likes him, making racist edits of him, ignoring how living through Jim Crow canonically impacted his psyche and telling black ppl who’re trying to educate u about that to,
“seek professional professional help”
u ppl are absolutely horrendous it’s so hard to put into words at how upset i am..
as a blerd i am BEYOND EXHAUSTED.
