So I switched Freya to her matchy matchy halter/lead and flymask set and I think she looks freaking adorable. For anyone curious:
For anyone curious, her halter is a Kavalkade Cavo (I love these, I've had several over the years, they have a super soft padded crown) in turquoise and brown and her flymask is a Cashel Patterned Crusader with ears in Mint.
Excuse how unimpressed she looks, I was turning her out when I stopped and made her wait so I could take a picture.
Anyway in terms of training updates, we're continuing with the extensive prep work prior to harnessing or hooking her. Today we did some building off of the scary sounds/noises/etc touching her and being behind her that they've been working with her on, just as a review, but today we also put a blinker hood on her for the first time.
I was anticipating her to be more concerned about the noises/being touched when she couldn't see, but over all, much to my surprise and excitement, she actually was significantly less worried about it! Her trainer said that is a really good sign for her being able to adapt to driving well, so I'm really pleased.
She also saw a chiropractor this week (seriously, the barn owner/trainer had the chiro out and was like, why don't you look at Freya, she's been holding her tail a little off, which was so nice) and everything is fine, her lower back was just tight, possibly just due to the stress of moving and a new routine etc, and just doing some neck stretches with her more regularly should help keep her a bit looser.
Anyway, because I'm still only able to see her once a week due to the pandemic, the one plus of that is maybe I'll actually be able to keep up with Freya updates for once lol.
