Hows your fav companion doing?
"I... don't have a favourite..." Or rather, all his companions were his favourite.
"They're all doing fine, though. The staff are as cheerful as ever, nobody's injured themselves or fallen ill recently and we've even had a new hire or two!" It was wonderful news, really! Everybody was so nice and happy, their companionship and new friendships warming his heart. "Even Bure has been pretty happy ever since he came up with a new idea for the manor's security..." Because the old man was busying himself with that he'd been picking on the newbies and so-called 'suspicious' employees far less.
"The hounds are doing great too. They've grown up nicely and they're all quite adorable... I've had to look after them more because they're a little messy, though." With enough begging from the DeRoss children the dogs always found themselves being brought back to the manor again, though, always running back and forth between it and the manor. "They're pretty good at avoiding traps, as well!" Sometimes they could even deliver letters to him from the employees and vice versa!
"And..." He paused, trailing off as his mind drifted to a certain friend of his.
"..." Black Nose had grown to be pretty big, fur thick and soft. Despite his large stature he was doing well in the forest, living peacefully as he should. Sometimes they found each other and would enjoy a little reunion, the gamekeeper telling the animal about how the days have been and enjoying his company until eventually the two had to part ways.
A soft, warm smile graced his face at the thought.
"They're doing just great, thank you..."
