The awe in her voice made him laugh. “No one ever eats just one scoop of ice cream, Little Star.” “What’s the normal number of scoops then?” This was not a question one should ask Aditya, for he would tell you it was five. And he told Davina with such conviction too, it was only natural she believed him. She stared with wide eyed at the many, many ice cream flavors to choose from, her breaths fogging the glass.

Ruin (Feather Light)

He’d recently run out of some colors, and when he’d mentioned it to Nerezza, just to make conversation – okay, and maybe to get her to go to the market with him so he could spend more time with her – she had taken it upon herself to go and buy new paints for him. Of all colors. Of the highest quality. Not only had she ruined his plans of going out together, she’d also spent too much money on him, which always drove him mad. How dare the angel pamper him so casually?!

“Did you know space whales sometimes come to visit this pocket of the universe?” I said when we went on our way to Home again. “I think they like to stargaze.” “I can see why,” Davina said, hopping with feather light steps over a path of asteroids. “They are very beautiful.” “It’s a shame we didn’t get to see them today,” I sighed. She would’ve loved to meet them and hear all about their travels through the cosmos.

“Where will you be going?” Davina secretly hoped it wasn’t far. She quite enjoyed their time together with the horses. “Dad said it was a surprise. He said he needs to find something first before we can go.” Lykos seemed excited about their trip, so she said, “Then I hope he finds it soon.” “Don’t worry. You can shift into a cat and secretly visit me wherever I go,” he said, beaming with a proud smile at his own idea.

I like him.” Ozul stared at Dollie with huge, wary eyes, as if he was afraid to look away lest she suddenly came too close. “Nerezza, I swear to all that is soft and fluffy on this world, if that doll comes near me, I will burn down your palace.” The spirit in the doll flowed out through its eyes, like a drop falling slowly and horizontally, and a nebula the size of a head emerged. A shell of black and burgundy protected light dots of green, orange, and white. Nerezza delighted in her many colors. “Is this better?” the spirit asked as she circled Ozul’s head.

Hmm, most things are pretty relevant to the plot, but one that isn't is Nova's wish to visit the beach someday. He fell in love with a picture he once saw in a travel guide, but since he lives far away from any beach and doesn't have the money to travel, he can't go. Yet. Maybe someday🥹🥹

Davina had fallen asleep and turned into a little deer. She lay curled up on one of Nerezza’s wings. I could almost feel the pins and needles in my own wings – it was a feeling I was all too familiar with, from Davina, but also her animals had dozed on my wings countless times.

OC vs cockroach

Rules: rate your OCs on how well they'd fare against a cockroach

Davina: ?/10 (it depends on your perspective) -- She'd spot a cockroach and go "FRIEND!!!😍😍😍" and pick it up. Then she'd invite it over for her tea party and enjoy biscuits together while she listens to the cockroach's life's story. Helix: 8/10 -- If he saw a cockroach, he'd go very still and politely ask it to please leave his home. After it's packed its bags and left, he'd do a full-body shiver and resume his day. He doesn't know who created those monstrosities, but it wasn't him. Amar: 10/10 -- He actually likes most bugs bc they play an important role in the cleaning up the dead and returning life to the earth. But he'd pick it up and set it outside bc he knows Helix isn't a fan. Nova: 0/10 -- *SCREAMS* "A creepy crawly!" *jumps into Nerezza's arms* "Nene, kill it! Kill it before it lays eggs!" Nova would never ever kill anyone in his life. All life is precious. Except for bugs' lives. They can go die🤺 Nerezza: 10/10 -- She'd go, "Nova, calm down. I can't kill it if I'm carrying you in my arms." Then she'd set him on a chair so the cockroach can't go near his feet. Normally, she'd just pick it up and put it outside, but because Nova insists... oh well. *stomps foot* Hedwig & Lysandra: -12/10 -- Believe it or not, the brave Lysandra has one fear, and that is cockroaches. So she'd very casually convince Hedwig to kill it for her -- her hands are full or sth like that. Hedwig just plainly admits to her that he thinks they're gross and he's not going anywhere near it. Lys: "Hedwig, be a man and just squash it with your boot." Hedwig, who never switches to his female form: *changes to female form*, "🧍‍♀️You be a man." Then the cockroach suddenly starts flying! (For the record, Lys absolutely did NOT scream.) They start running around like a bunch of headless chickens. Hedwig thinks it's a good idea to take it down with a lighter and deodorant. Their house is on fire now. Nene must swoop in and save the day.

His eyes remained on her and she got the sudden urge to punch him in the nose. “What?” she snapped. “You look… different,” he said, still searching her face as if he wasn’t sure he was looking at an original painting or its copy. “Keep looking at me and I’ll make you look different,” Nerezza threatened. But Lysander ignored her; something on her had grabbed his attention. He reached out a hand and removed a white flower petal from her black hair, studying it with a frown. “Must’ve been blown in by the wind,” he muttered to himself.
