Repost from @nomanational • #BlackArchitect Allison Williams is renowned for her ability to seamlessly integrate design and technical proficiency into all of her projects; in a career spanning more than 30 years in corporate practice, Allison Williams has designed significant large-scale projects in the San Francisco Bay Area, nationally and internationally. The breadth of Ms. Williams' work spans civic, corporate, and cultural facilities, places for research and education, mixed-use, and high-density developments. Currently, Ms. William operates her own firm AGWms studio; Allison served as AECOM's global architecture practice as Vice President and Director of Design for the firm's U.S. West region. Ms. Williams oversaw the vision and passion for design into AECOM's architecture practices. Before joining AECOM, Ms. Williams was a Principal for Perkins Will and an Associate Partner for SOM with high-profile projects that include the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Computational Research Facility; the international terminal at San Francisco International Airport; CREATE at the National University of Singapore, AOL Creative Center in Dulles, VA; The August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Pittsburgh, PA; Freddie Mac Corporate Headquarters Mc Lean, VA; The Ellington Mixed-Use Tower in Oakland, CA and America Center Research and Development Campus. Allison has been a fantastic mentor to many of the younger black architects in the Bay Area and is always there to support opportunities and programs that introduce and nurture the next generation of minority architects. Ms. Williams received both her Masters of Architecture and Bachelor of Art in the Practice of Art at the University of California, Berkeley and she is a Harvard Graduate School of Design Loeb Fellow and was elevated to a Fellow in the AIA in 1997 for her excellence in design and was the 2020 Joseph Esherick Visiting Professor at U.C.
