Today we’re going all the way back to 2016 to feature FRANKi’s Closer / Kites 7”, the second masterfully produced and packaged offering from 300 Club’s discography. FRANKi doesn’t have much of an active social media presence these days, but their previous work, including the two songs on this 7” are going to perk up the ears of people who love the idea of chillwave but hate the mushmouth, reverbed out vocals that sound like something you could never recreate in real life. Fans of James Blake will feel right at home with the sultry and chilled out vibes of Closer and Kites shows another side of FRANKi’s production skills in an instrumental, ethereal jam that would be perfect to watch the sunrise to after a long night of partying. If you remember my previous post featuring Onry Ozzborn’s Nervous Hvnd and it’s absolutely stunning Wax Mage pressing that looks like waves in the ocean, you won’t be surprised by how funky and awesome this particular watermelon-looking pressing is. 300 Club has taken a stance on only curating the best music out there, regardless of genre, and putting care and passion into every step along the way from the recording of the music all the way to the hand-crafted packaging that label owner @johm puts into each release.
