Just watch Sho's Blackboard SP (I know I'm late). This is one beautiful Sp ! I was surprised to like it that much, this story is so interesting and Shohei makes me cry so much !

Sho-kun you did very well ! I really believed in this character !

Finished watching Blackboard SP part 2, completing all of them. - now I talk about it as an education major

(had to watch part 3 before 2 because 2 took FOREVER to download >_> I'm seeding it right now if anybody wants to download it xDD)

Seriously one of the best SP series I have seen. Maybe I'm biased because I'm going into teaching myself, but I loved seeing the relationship between teachers and students.

We are in school for so many years and school is a huge contributor to our overall development. People within school can make a difference as to whether we succeed or not. (school is the #1 place to help students with a bad home still be successful.)

I was also frustrated with these SPs because, although they exaggerate some things, they actually addressed very REAL problems you have as a teacher and I was frustrated by the fact some of these teachers were making stupid decisions!

Part 2 and 3 frustrated me the most because they were more relatable in how our school system works today.

Part 2 addressed the problem of physical punishment. Is it okay? Most people would say "no". I agreed with a lot of things the teachers pointed out, such as adults who physically punish their youth, end up raising violent youth.

But, that being said, I think there is a time when you should be allowed to touch a student, such as if they are already being violent. Words will not reach them until they are taken out of the situation. Sometimes you will need to use your strength to get them out of that situation. (and the police are obviously not helping....how about teaching the student what is wrong instead of just giving them punishment immediately? Or teach while punishing. Punishment is NOT teaching.)

What I liked is that the SP showed both sides of this. Physical contact was necessary when dealing with Yukari because she was already violent, but with the son, violence should not have been used and actually had a negative effect on him.

Part 3 was very interesting about how teacher-student relationships have changed over the years. It has become cold and the teacher's job is to just fill you with information.

I do have to disagree though that favoritism should be shown in class, like the main teacher had stated. And actually, what she was doing was NOT favoritism. It was something called individualized instruction.

Well....she went a little too far with it. Doing a home visit was 100% acceptable and is something teachers are recommended to do sometimes. (especially with young students)

She really shouldn't have brought him to her house though. She could have easily taught him in a public place and she would've avoided that whole bad situation.

Still, the parents and other teachers pissed me off so badly about saying "everything has to be fair!"

Um, excuse me, fair does NOT mean equal. If things are equal, that actually isn't fair at all!

We use individualized instruction just for this. It is not showing favoritism, it is making the classroom a learning environment for all.

Why make a kid that is below grade level in reading fall even further behind? This student's problem should have been address so much earlier, but this is a very real thing that happens in classrooms. Teachers overlook students or don't want to deal with them so they just pass them on to the next teacher.

A good teacher would address his problem by doing exactly what the teacher in part 3 did, individualize his instruction.

We do it on the other end as well. Students that are far beyond grade level must be given more materials to keep them learning.

Students on both ends of the spectrum are equally just as likely to drop out of school.

So why do we push everyone to be "equal" when we aren't equal at all? We are quite diverse.

In fact, isn't it through addressing diversity that we can find real equality?

That should be our aim in education.

I just hope in the future, I can be as much of a good influence as these teachers. It will be different since I will most likely be teaching kindergarten or 1st grade so I'm not sure how much they'll remember me, but I will try my best to address each student's individual needs!

omg Blackboard SPs are now my favorite 2012 drama SPs omg ; ~; I'm somehow thankful that I only worked on translating SP 1 -- SP 2 frustrated me to no end, and SP 3 hit me in the heart because it talked about dreams and was set in modern times. I also like how the story goes around in a neverending circle when they refer to having a future (SP 1, Mirai) by first having a dream and a goal (SP 3, Yume) in the last episode of the series. ;_; So many feels! D:

Finished watching Blackboard SP part 3

It was so hard not to cry at the end!!

I still need to watch part 2 (it is still downloading) but the Blackboard series is one of my favorites. It is highly relatable to me since I'm an education major.

I think the 3rd was the most frustrating since it takes place in present day and these problem are 100% true. Everything is about catering to the parents and doing everything "politically correct". I was so angry toward that one girl's mom since she was pushing exams so much.

The line that stood out to me the most was when the teacher said to the girl, "This isn't cram school. We don't just learn things for the test. We learn a variety of things because they are good to know."

TRUE WORDS RIGHT HERE!

The problem with education right now is that it is so much about learning to the test. Sorry, but the test isn't going to cover everything you should know in life.

I wish they were making one more that followed Ohmiya's (I loved his name xD) dream because I could see it now: a boy that is so incredibly far behind in school, works towards becoming a teacher.

I love how he wrote it "Mi drem is techer."

Even the most behind students can learn. It just touched my heart so much
