EverQuest Starting Points – Is Blackburrow a Dungeon, a Zone, or a City?

I want to start this by saying that Blackburrow is the home to the Blackburrow gnoll clan, but I feel like gnolls are not, perhaps, the most notable or obvious mob in the range of fantasy creatures. Do I need to explain gnolls?  I mean, they don’t even have their own Wikipedia page, having to abide way down the page about Hybrid Creatures of Folklore, being humanoid creatures with a hyena-like…

Maybe Goldie was right about the whole smuggling operation. This place looked shady to say the least. Was that a skull in a pool of blood on the ground? And there were barrels of something along the wall...

There was a door, but I’m not sure where it led because it was boarded up, and barricaded. Whatever was on the other side, they didn’t want coming in here.

“I’m in Blackburrow.” Goldie announced. Geez... this was gonna take some time to regroup, wasn’t it?

Meanwhile, Triisu and I were going in circles trying to find the way out of there.

Remember Blackburrow trains?  For Half-Elves and Humans they were the first indoctrination into how aggro transferred and how one misplaced shot or one bad pull could be disastrous.  I remember zoning in one time to a pile of corpses and a massive train just then leaving the zone out.  I backed away slowly and back into Qeynos Hills!

Later on, this was the place you'd go with your shiny new gear and 20 more levels under your belt to exact a little revenge.  Oh, and also to power level your buddy you just got addicted to the game!
