This blackcurrant jam is full of flavor and good for you nutrients. When blackcurrants, apples, and maple syrup are mixed together, they make a sweet and sour jam that goes well on toast or with your favorite vegan treats. Chia seeds make things thicker and have extra health benefits.
Ingredients: 500g blackcurrants. 200g apple, peeled and diced. 100g maple syrup. 1 tablespoon chia seeds.
Instructions: In a saucepan, combine blackcurrants, diced apple, and maple syrup. Cook over medium heat until the fruits are soft and mushy, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and mash the mixture with a potato masher or blend until smooth. Stir in chia seeds and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to thicken. Transfer the jam into sterilized jars and let it cool completely before sealing. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
