Last week I gave you this picture of an angel. You gave me a bunch of cards and not one of them featured the word Angel or even Creature on the type line! The winner’s today were delayed because of car trouble which still isn’t completely resolved, but enough of that. The winners!
@blackdeckwins
A unique green draw card with huge potential upside, this last minute entry really managed to steal the day. I’m still kind of falling in love over here. Congrats on the bonus point!
@conorace
So this card managed to check my reading comprehension but now that I am awake and able to read properly I see a cool pseudo Ghostly Prison or something along those lines. It doesn’t prevent attacks and blocks, but most creatures won’t have the power to do anything useful. But there are other avenues open (especially with green and white) to get around this with pump effects. You’ll receive one bonus point!
@tonric
Maybe it’s because I learned to play Magic with a group of four friends, or because one of my first “real” board game experiences was Diplomacy, but multiplayer politics have always drawn me. Cast at an opportune point in a game, this relatively simple card can change the course of the game. That’s good for a bonus point!
Things are off to a big start right away we have both new contenders and familiar faces clinching the top spots for designs this week. A huge thank you to everyone who sent thanks and designs and all of that. The winners this week were awarded in three categories:
Best creature
Best instant or sorcery
Best noncreature, noninstant, nonsorcery

As the only intrepid soul to make a card that was not a creature, instant, or sorcery, you handily nabbed the bonus point here with a unique enchantment. Also messaging after the fact revealed this card was intended as WU but the text I received used 3WB in the mana cost and of course Magic uses B for black and U for blue. But it still works and for venturing outside the norms of this challenge you will receive one bonus point.
@outerspace-messiah
Likewise there wasn’t a whole lot of competition for the instant or sorcery bonus point but I did receive more than one card. It was difficult to choose between them. In the end this wins out by evoking both the idea of journeying (via returning creatures to their owner’s hand) and playing well with but not requiring Giant tribal via Ferocious. You will receive one bonus point!
@blackdeckwins
Far and away the most entries I received for this challenge were card type creature. That doesn’t surprise me and it made choosing a winner in this category very difficult. There were about four other designs that I debated over here before narrowing it down to two. Ultimately this hard won bonus point went to a relatively simple yet effective design that hasn’t yet been seen in Magic on a creature with flash. The shoe’s on the other foot for our esteemed CFAC patriarch and he’s really hit the ground running. You’ll receive one bonus point!
The designs I didn’t submit to @blackdeckwins for the final CFAC I really am going to miss it a lot even though I was really bad about doing it consistently
My favorite planeswalker in the Gatewatch right now is certainly Jace, because I relate to Jace's moments of feeling like he has everything under control just to realize someone else was running the show the whole time (a la Emrakul). There isn't anyone I specifically want in the Gatewatch right now, but I do want to see them interact with Ashiok eventually.
Another card I made while going through @blackdeckwins‘s old Cards From Art posts.
I was inspired by the contrast of her vivid red dress, and the complete lack of colour in everything around her.
This lead to the concept that she was actually consuming the colour around her.
That's the second week in a row I've gooned my Cards from Art Challenge. The first week I put first strike on a golgari creature when only black get it but extremely rarely (I was thinking of Drana) and this week I messed up tradition with spore counters; I could have sworn up and down that some of them removed counters to do stuff, but I was just remembering my friend doing both the spore removal and the sacrifice at instant speed to create the appearance of the effect just being 'remove three spore counters, fog' for example. Next week! I'll win next week. I'm going to git gud this season and then shine next season. I am learning from my mistakes!
