BITTY, JACK, SHITTY, HOLSTER, TANGO
Bitty: Talk about the bravest thing you’ve ever done
Umm, probably come out to my husband as ace? I was terrified. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Jack: Talk about one of your passions
Aside from Check Please? :P (and fanfiction- I could go on for days about the way fandom avoids the usual gatekeepers in order to produce content that subverts the ways popular culture views sex, gender and relationships. Not to mention it’s just damn good fun). The use of technology in the classroom to facilitate more individualised learning in order to move away from the ‘factory’ model of education (students go into school, learn at the same pace- or don’t learn and fail- and leave school at the same time with the same knowledge, with the intent to go to university) to a more inclusive model that allows students to learn at their own pace and in their own way to achieve mutually agreed upon goals. (Which is, honestly, a pie in the sky dream, but it’s always good to move more in that direction, and more and more away from standardised testing- I’m looking at you, NAPLAN)
Shitty: Talk about a party story and/or drunk story
The first time I got properly drunk I stopped in the middle of a sentence and sank to the floor, giggling. Apparently it looked like I found an elevator to the basement in the kitchen. I then spent the rest of the night falling off stuff. Like the armchair. And the beanbag. And the rug on the floor. Also, I’ve never had a hangover *ducks thrown beer bottles*
Holster: Talk about your best friend
She is absolutely lovely and will fuck you up if you mess with her or her friends. I got her to read Check Please with me so that we can descend into gay hockey hell together. She writes the most amazing stories and shares them with me. (Now you just need to write some to put on AO3 so that I can flail and point in their direction)
Tango: Talk about something you’ve always wondered
Nothing that I can think of right now? When I get curious about off the wall stuff I tend to just turn to google. Although as a kid I used to ask questions along the lines of ‘How do frogs pee?’ (The answer, as it turns out is, ‘through their skin’. Think about THAT the next time you touch a frog)
