Sleepover Saturday: Any streaming recs for a Saturday night?

YES okay I’m gonna do a movie and tv show from the big 3 streaming services:

Hulu

Movie: Sorry To Bother You (I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and have not stopped thinking about it since)

TV Show: Designing Women is on Hulu and I have seen ZERO hype about it 

Netflix

Movie: In terms of Netflix romcoms, Ibiza was honestly a way better movie than people give it credit for, and it has Richard Madden playing a himbo DJ like???? What more could you want???

TV Show: Bates Motel is DELIGHTFULLY weird, but if you are looking for something more lighthearted, I would recommend Atypical

Prime Video

Movie: I’m sure someone of your superior taste has seen Saved! but if you haven’t it’s on Prime 

TV Show: I’m struggling to find Prime shows that aren’t Mrs. Maisel so I’m gonna say the 1960s Addams Family

The singing drew Jon away from the Fairy Court procession.  It was a lovely voice, and the girl it belonged to was even lovelier by comparison.  He was especially mesmerized by her flowing red hair, and how it caught the moonlight as she danced with an imaginary partner.  Of course, as soon as he flew closer to get a better look, she spotted him.

“I’m sorry!” he cried as the girl fled behind the propped up open storybook.  “I didn’t mean to frighten you!  I was curious, is all.”

Bright blue eyes peeked around the book’s edge.  “Curious about what?”

“Your voice.  I heard you singing, and thought it sounded pretty.”  He cringed.  Gods, Jon, you sound a fool.

The girl giggled and stepped out from her hiding place.  There was a beat in which they took each other in, and Jon was secretly pleased to see that she was as equally transfixed as he was of her.

“I don’t mean to stare,” she murmured.  “It’s just that...I’ve never met someone my size.  I thought I was the only one.”  Before he could respond, she drew herself into an elegant curtsy that would rival any noblewoman’s.  “My name is Sansa.”

“Sansa,” he breathed, grinning like a loon.

“You should always compliment a lady’s name when she gives it to you, sir,” she chided, but he could tell she was only teasing him.

“It’s a beautiful name, my lady,” he responded immediately.  “It suits you,” he added sincerely.

Sansa blushed at the compliment, and Jon preened.  “And what is your name, sir?” she asked shyly.

Jon started.  “Oh!  Right.”  He bowed to her formally, thankful for once for his lessons in etiquette his father forced on him.  “My name is Jon.”

“Jon...” she repeated, smiling.  Jon smiled back.  He rather liked how his name sounded coming from her.  “It’s lovely to meet you.”

“Likewise.”

Sparks fly! Television’s sweetheart Sansa Stark seen stepping out with ‘Night’s Watch’ frontman Jon Snow!

She’s all dolled up, her hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail, the top half of her silver dress just visible on the tiny screen. It’s the same dress she’d been wearing in the selfies she sent him earlier. Jon knows this means that the first thing Sansa did when she reached her hotel room was call him. That Sansa Stark thinks about him at all is still so new and ludicrously surreal, that Jon can’t stop himself from grinning like a fool.

11 Questions

I am cheating and answering @blackholeofprocrastination (first) and @alittlestardustcaught (second) questions at the same time because LAZY. Thank you for the tags you beautiful ladies! Keeping this under the cut because it’s long! 

1. Do you prefer going in person to the mall/store or shopping online? I will order some things online but not often clothing because I am a DD who is short and things just DON’T FIT when I try and guess what size I need.  2. What’s your favorite fanfic trope? Fake relationship! Or bedsharing :)  3. They’re making a movie about your life. What song is playing in the trailer? TBH the entire soundtrack would be composed of Britney Spears Greatest Hits so probably (You Drive Me) Crazy. 

4. What’s your favorite word? Fuck.  5. Would you rather: parkour everywhere you go or permanently wear rollerblades? Rollerblades. Both sound terrible tbh but I’ll take the one I know I could do.  6. What’s something you’ve always wanted to learn how to do? I would love to learn how to knit someday, and do it well.  7. When going on a trip, what is a ‘must-pack’ item in your suitcase? Neutral colored sweater that matches everything I own. 8. What historical/retro fashion trend needs to make a comeback? The glittery butterfly hair clips from the late 90′s early 00′s because I never got to fully enjoy that trend due to my age. I would rock them now in my mid 20′s.  9. Pencil or pen? I cannot write in pencil. Ugh. The noise it makes when it scratches across the paper gives me goosebumps and I hate it. I HAVE to have pens, I hate writing in anything else.  10. You’re traveling down the Oregon Trail. Do you ford the river or caulk the wagons and float? I die either way right?? Uhhh... I’d ford the river because I am not a strong swimmer and if something happened to the wagon I’d drown.  11. What TV show can you rewatch unconditionally forever? That 70′s Show! 1. Skirts or trousers? I could live in maxi skirts if the weather would allow it.  2. Would you rather go abseiling or potholing? Apparently potholing involves under ground caves and I have done that before and it was FUN so I choose that one.  3. What is your favourite memory? Pretty much anything from my childhood PRE my mom’s bipolar disorder diagnoses. Camping, fishing, little league, looking for crawfish in the creek, picnics. I have four siblings and my mom was wonder woman before she got sick. I still love my mom but my memories post diagnoses are not good ones.  4. What one thing do you think should be taught in schools, but isn’t? Comprehensive sexual education! It is taught in some schools but it’s not the norm. I don’t mean the sex ed unit that gets caught in gym class, I mean an entire credit class that is required to graduate. I went to one of the only schools in the state of PA that had comprehensive sex ed as a graduation requirement and it was taught to FRESHMAN and probably one of my fav classes in high school.  5. There are two types of people in this world. What are the two types? One who have read Harry Potter and ones who have not.  6. What’s your favourite word? I’ll repeat my above answer; fuck.  7. You’re trapped in a TV show for a month. Where would you choose? BROOKLYN NINE NINE!!!! 8. How different was your life one year ago? Well.. I am no longer friends with someone who was a very negative attention seeking self centered individual and it’s been great because they were EXHAUSTING. I'd like to believe I’m a better person now because of that, that I’ve gotten better at trusting my gut instinct when it comes to people and that I refuse to waste my time/energy on certain types of people that refuse to see themselves as anything but flawless.  9. What city would you most like to live in? Any city that does not experience winter like where I live does. 10. As you get older, what are you becoming more afraid of? I really want kids but the idea of being pregnant freaks me out for various reasons. I’m comfortable with children obviously but pregnancy in general does not sound pleasant and neither does childbirth and once we start trying to have kids I’m probably going to be A Mess.   11. What’s your favourite film quote? Then, what shall we die for? You will listen to me! Listen! The Brethren will still be looking here, to us, to the Black Pearl, to lead. And what will they see? 1) What’s your favorite internet meme?

Arthur’s Fist continues to make me laugh so I’ll go with that. All thanks to Chrissy Teigen.

2) Do you have any nicknames? 

Yes :)

3) What was your favorite book you read for school?

Ramona and Her Father. All the 3rd graders in my elementary school had a Ramona read-a-thon sleepover with no parents! It was the only (?) school function (not even prom) that my parents had allowed me to attend so the book (in fact, the whole Ramona series) holds a very special place in my heart.

4) Rain or Sun?

Rain! I LOVE everything about the rain minus driving in it. It’s so much fun going on rain walks with my kids while we all pretend to be Gene Kelly lol.

5) What was your first fandom?

GH’s Lucky and Liz back in 19--omg was it 20 years ago. Oh yup. Wow. Well!  To this day, I think I still remember their first scene together, word for word.

6) When you’re on holiday do you hire a guide or strike out on your own?

On my own for domestic travel but most likely hire a guide for international.

7) What song lyric makes you laugh?

Too Close by Next mostly because I DID NOT KNOW what that song was about until much much later in life whoops.

8) Would you rather have your favorite book adapted into a movie or a tv series?

TV series with the knowledge that it can’t sustain a long-run lol

9) What’s your favorite piece of clothing?

Currently my California Love sweatshirt. It’s so comfortable and I especially love that I can sometimes go braless without anyone noticing. WHEEE!!!

10) If you were a superhero/supervillain, what would be your origin story? 

Ooh this is tough but I’d like a slice of pie to somehow be involved in my back story.

11) What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

That I’m weird. I don’t care whether people mean it as a compliment or not but I always take it as one lol
