ROAD TO INFINITY WAR – 12/18

One movie a week until May 4th APRIL 27!! Let’s do this! [Master Schedule]

Ah. Remember the good old days when Hawkeye was included in posters and trailers? *sigh* Those were the days... 

TEAM UP MOVIES ARE MY FAV!! 

PROS

- THIS IS CLINT BARTON’S MOVIE AND I LOVE IT!

- Clint and Natasha, together again, and me wondering why they are EVER apart!

- Natasha : Thor, report on the Hulk. Thor: The gates of Hell are filled with the screams of his victims! [Natasha glares at him while Bruce groans and puts his head in his hands] Thor: But not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no... wounded screams... mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and... gout.

- Sam Wilson: “Avenging is your world. Your world is crazy.” Sam Wilson is precious to me. I love how he isn’t all gung-ho, let’s save the world. He’s a realist and just wants to stay out of the fray when he can. 

-  The Team trying to pick up Mjolnir

- Clint is the ONLY one to avoid Wanda’s attack. AFTER he takes out all the hostiles with one arrow. Useless character my ass. 

- Clint gets some semblance of a backstory. Or at least a life outside of the Avengers. And I just love Laura Barton. She spends about ten seconds with the team and can already tell they’re a Hot Mess.  Clint: You don't think they need me. Laura: I think they do. Which is a lot scarier. They're a mess.

- “The city if flying... we’re fighting an army of robots... and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense.” And also “Nobody would know. Nobody. Yeah, The last I saw him, Ultron was sitting on him. Yeah, he'll be missed, quick little bastard. I miss him already." Seriously... this is Clint Barton’s movie that’s my favorite thing about this movie! 

- And then Pietro... and Wanda’s pain, feeling exactly when it happens... gut wrenching. 

CONS

- Natasha and Bruce. I HATE them together. With a fiery passion. Of one thousand suns. It’s so out of nowhere and just feel so forced. If you would like to check out my in depth analysis of how terrible this ship is, check out [this post], [this post], and [this post].

- Thor’s Water of Sight scene. It’s just so... odd. I think there’s an extended version of the scene that makes more sense, but as it stands in the movie I just feel like it doesn’t make an abundance of sense. 

- Natasha Romanoff being relegated to damsel in distress that needs saving. She is locked in a cell full of SUPPLIES. I wish we would have seen something more badass from her than just sending out morse code...

My overall rating for Avengers: Age of Ultron: 8.5/10

Clint: Tasha, how many agents did I-?

Natasha: Don't. Don't do that to yourself, Clint. This is Loki. This is monsters and magic and nothing we were ever trained for. 

vs:

Bruce: Even if I didn't just...there's no future with me. I can't ever...I can't have this, kids, do the math, I physically can't.

Natasha: Neither can I. In the Red Room, where I was trained, where I was raised, um, they have a graduation ceremony. They sterilize you. It's efficient. One less thing to worry about. The one thing that might matter more than a mission. It makes everything easier. Even killing. You still think you're the only monster on the team? 

  This is why I can’t get on board with Natasha/Bruce. While comforting Clint, she lifts him up, assures him he’s not the monster he thinks he is. While comforting Bruce she takes herself down to his perceived level. 

If Infinity War could go ahead and kill this ship, I’d very much appreciate it.
