Depending upon your location, you won’t have to worry about the hidden alligator lurking beneath the surface just inches from your face. In addition, the physics of light can be an added pleasure. In still waters reflections become an important part of the image. Add a stunning bird and the photo captures attention.

Black-necked Stilt with Fish by MyKeyC The positive side of being homebound due to the virus is that I can get some photo organization done and rediscover older shots that I've completely forgotten about. I tend cull first, pick a very few favorites to process and then move on to my next photo shoot. As such, I have a ton of material to keep me busy in my old age. Perfect for these times. This is a Black-necked Stilt, which I think was photographed in the Everglades. It is the only time that I've seen one with prey of this size. It lined up nicely with the shades on the water. Take care everyone. I am not infected but staying inside as much as I can bear to avoid being so. Graceful and Slender6U8A4517 by Daniel D'Auria Via Flickr: The Black-necked stilt is one of my favorite waders. It’s a tall, slender bird with graceful flight that inhabits wetlands. A recent, short trip to Peaceful Waters played out with the usual cast of characters but the light and low angle on this bird made it an opportunity I did not want to pass up. The low angle and dark vegetation behind the bird accentuates the graceful, slender profile of this agile little bird.
