Dr. Shocker’s House of Horror Goes to Auction
Good news for fans of horror memorabilia, Daniel Roebuck more commonly known by his stage name, Dr. Shocker, will be teaming up with Blacksparrow Auctions to put his considerable collection of horror movie props and collectables on the chopping, I mean, auction block.
Roebuck has managed to amass such a collection that he opened a museum known as Dr. Shocker's House of Horror. The venue sported merchandise from his own private purchases which includes many classic monster and horror film props, posters, original artwork, masks, autographs, as well as many other movie related goodies from the latter half of the 20thcentury which are now going to auction. There will be over 250 items available during the auction.
Dr. Shocker, or Daniel Roebuck, is a character actor with a career spanning back to the 80s. He has appeared in The Lords of Salem as well as a host of other movies and TV shows. Although he has appeared in many shows as a straight actor, he is most known for his alternative personality, Dr. Shocker, the pale faced, dark suit wearing ghoul.
Blacksparrow Auctions is a well-known auction company with experience in handling movie memorabilia. This is one of many themed auctions for the company. A print catalog for the auction is available for preorder from the auction house's website. The print catalog is $25 and will be shipping in early October.
In addition to the auction, there will be a once in a lifetime screening of Dr. Shocker's Vault of Horror, a documentary covering the horror movie monster craze. The screening is on October 9th. Seating is very limited for this event so fans should RSVP [email protected].
The actual auction will take place at the Chinese 6 Theatres, part of the famous TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood, CA on October 26, 2013. Just in time for Halloween. For fans who cannot make it, in addition to in person bidding, there will also be telephone and online bidding available.
