I'm curious about your ships for Ty Lee? I thought her crush on Sokka was cute, Ty Lee x Azula would be a cute AU, but I always thought Ty Lee would be a better match for Zuko than Mai. What about you though? Thanks for your time. :)
no problem !! i definitely have a lot of ships with ty lee because she’s such a cute little ray of sunshine that arguably, she could work with a lot of people !!
tylokka : i do like the concept of this, however with how pushy ty lee was in canon, even when sokka told her he was taken, left me a little weary. however it seems to have been forgotten by the time we get to the finale & it wasn’t so pressing that i have a major issue with it. as for shipping them as a proper couple, i think these two could have a lot of fun together !! ty lee would absolutely adore sokka’s puns & jokes, & would honestly probably really enjoy getting to explore his culture & how he interacts with his family, especially when her own relations were so strained.
tyzula : absolutely do not ship this in canon, but in an au where azula was given the opportunity to not be ... that, i could see them being a power couple. i do like this in modern aus especially because azula can be afforded different avenues to explore & her relationship with ty lee becomes less abusive. i’m not against abusive relationships being portrayed, it just becomes a trigger for me when it’s with wlw couples due to personal experience.
tyko : love it love it love it !! that moment in the beach episode where ty lee told zuko that she “ knows him ” cemented it as one of my favourite ships in my head. honestly it seems like zuko would not do well in a relationship with a peppy girl but as we saw, ty lee also is one of the most emotionally mature people in the fn group & knows zuko’s pain, knows how to emote & relate & validate his hurt, which is something he really needs in a relationship. zuko also could provide that centring force for ty lee, allowing her an identity that she can craft & control herself, like she had at the circus. idk, the idea of fire lady ty lee was always a fun one for me, she would be a very loving, healing fire lady imo.
mai lee : see i also love these two. the fact that the only thing that could spur ty lee to go against azula was her canonical love & care for mai? that’s soulmate shit for me. i do love the ideas of their relationship & how it could progress & grow, especially with the lowkey sardonic way mai does temper ty lee’s flightiness at times, while ty lee doesn’t allow mai to be such a downer at times. there’s a comfortable camaraderie & friendship between them that could easily flourish into a comfortable relationship.
tyaang : i’ve seen this around the place & absolutely love it. i think these two would be the perfect pair of flighty babies yet ty lee would also encourage that emotional maturity in aang to flourish, while encouraging him to grow as the avatar & pay attention to humanity as a whole. the idea of them as a travelling pair, helping people wherever they go is just so sweet to me.
tysuki : adore this idea. i think the ending for ty lee where she went into the kyoshi warriors is so sweet, especially when she forms that friendship with suki & then a potential relationship coming out of that owo. especially if it could also be a polycule with sokka, so adorable. ♥
