Blackwall

~*~ I recently finished a special commission to paint Blackwall, and wOW do I have some Dragon Age nostalgia! <3 (Dusts off old save files~) Blackwall was always one of my favorite written companion stories (plus he's got that purveyor-of-justice-and-redemption heart of gold + amazing beard combo). I finished Blackwall's romance and it's all just big feels. I love him. A lot.

This is the first time I’ve used alcohol markers on serious art. I’m floored at how far they can go. I dabbled with a few cartoons but this? I didn’t think it would be possible. This was done almost entirely with Ohuhu alcohol markers. Seriously. Look them up if you’re new and haven’t invested in Copics, yet. They’re less than $1 each and this is what a total armature can do with them.  Can’t stress enough - I don’t know how to use them correctly. It’s all trial and error right now for me. This is my new favorite art toy ever. This is part of a pinch hitter gift for DA Secret Santa and NotAllBloodMages.

Also cried a lot because I realized I know even less about hair than I thought I did.

Not sure if I like the “sketchy sketch” style yet but I’m trying to adapt for the sake of my tenuous sanity (and upper back muscles).  xD xD
