A calming breeze settles on the entire team, relishing the moment of respite from the chaos. Relief hesitates to embed itself in Keith's bones, but he'll try to manage anyway. Shaded hues peer out upon the landscape, tiny half-smile transforming scarred features. "Never thought we'd be going home," he sighs, noting Shiro's presence with a simple cant of his head.

Something is hypnotizing about the atmosphere. Not only the wonderful serenity of the environment, seeing HOME in a beautiful light, but the transfixing feeling of being safe make his heart feel light and warm. The worries of an intergalactic war seem so far away. With his feet on earth, it’s almost like he never left.
At least, only for a moment--- when Keith speaks up, the reminder of where they are in the world strikes him, causing the slight glimmer of his eyes to glass over, and chin turns down, forcing himself to face the truth. They might be home, but nothing is over yet. They aren’t here to return for good--- it’s just one stop on their long mission.
❝ Well, I didn’t think it would be this soon, ❞ he says, a chuckle masking that turmoil, and a smile tugging at the corners of his cheeks. A nostalgic tone takes over his voice, and he speaks softly, allowing himself to trail off, eyes scanning the horizon.
❝ I definitely didn’t think this would be this soon... ❞
