Definitely Harry Potter. I have a ton of reasons for this, but mostly it's because it's so well-developed and nuanced and so easily placed within reality.

Ash by Malinda Lo because it's a retelling of Cinderella (a concept I love but often goes horribly wrong). It was wonderful and fun and lesbians.

I can't even deny it. When I first read Harry Potter when it came out. I was only five, but I quickly became obsessed with reading and writing. I can't even imagine how drastically different my life would have been had I never read the series.
K. Kinds of Books You Won’t Read
Romance novels. Not that I have anything against them (I almost wrote my Book History paper on them!), it's just that I'm such a strong feminist that if the only plotline was centered on a romance, I would get really frustrated. Again, not saying that romance novels can't be feminist. I just need something else to keep me interested.
R. Reading Regret
Honestly my immediate response would be the Twilight series, but I don't actually regret reading them because now I can hold intellectual conversations about them. The Rainbow Boys by Alex Sanchez. I only read it because I was still going through my sexuality discovery phase of life and my friend suggested it. It wasn't applicable to me at all, though. It's about a few stereotypically gay high school boys who go on a roadtrip or something. I didn't enjoy it at all. I kinda forgot I even read it.
