Wow… I haven’t been back here in ages, but for some reason I was in a mood the other night and started to read through some of my old fics and it just lit up something in me and I was like ok I think I’m gonna start writing again.
I don’t know if any of my old mutuals are still on here, so if any of yall stumble upon this post and want to go back on my taglist just like send a note to my inbox I guess.
Also thank you to my wonderful bestie who I actually met originally through the fics I wrote, she was one of my anons and has become a great great friend who I actually get to see in person nowadays and has done me the wonderful privilege of agreeing to be my beta reader, so THANK YOU 💛
Hope you enjoy this fic, I won’t be revealing who it is though hehehe all I’ll say is that it involves a slytherin x reader pairing. as always, any and all feedback/comments are appreciated :)
The old Black house that is 12 Grimmauld Place was not where you were expecting to spend the summer after your fourth year, but then again it’s become hard to have any expectations for anything since Harry had come out of the maze with the news that he was back. And while you understood truly the danger that was to come, you didn’t feel as terrified as you thought you’d be. For the most part, you spent the summer searching all the nooks and crannies the space could offer you, cuddling up in the room that Hermione, Ginny, and you shared, laughing at the antics of the boys or sharing whispers of dreams and secrets shared under the covers. Hoping, maybe even praying, that one night you all would be offered the chance to sit in on that meeting that every adult occupant of the household sat on in the kitchen. Yet, with closeness gained and hearts and minds penetrated you didn’t have the courage to tell them about the one who plagued your thoughts every time you closed your eyes. At least, until Harry finally made it to the doorway.
Something about his anger, about his burning need to understand what was going on, made you pause… your mother knew, of course, you couldn’t not tell her of your closeness with the Slytherin. But something about Molly’s words, about all of you being children still, that you should be able to still be children… the girls at least, maybe they would find some happiness from your words, or at least cherish the last thing that you’d kept locked away from them.
•••
“You two are really lucky you know,” your fingers gripped and stretched the blanket wrapped around your legs, “Everyone that you care for is in this house, and…” your voice starts to falter.
Ginny and Hermione share a look, before devoting their attention to you. Hermione’s lips part first but it’s Ginny’s voice that makes its ways to your ears. “And?”
“And,” your throat tightens slightly as you continue on, “you don’t have to worry about anyone asking questions when we get back to school.” Your eyes drift back down to your fingers, the girls waiting patiently- at least trying to, before they can’t help themselves.
“Are you talking about someone specific?” Hermione’s voice starts slowly, while Ginny’s picks up the pace, “Someone who’s not just a friend?”
You nod, your eyes widening as your whole body just visibly relaxes under their careful gaze.
The silence in the room stills, just for a second, but enough for you to consider your next moves carefully. Nothing in the house disturbs the three of you as you finally shift off the bed, digging deep into your trunk as you pull out the small letter box, and with a nod you take of the lid, letting the contents be shown to people other than yourself.
At first, the girls’ eyes flutter between its contents and you- as you once again settle yourself into your previous position on the bed. A small smile starts to show as your fingers pick up some of the letters, flipping through them slowly until you find what you wanted. Staring at it with a delicate look in your eye, the rest of the pile returns to its rightful place in the box, as your free hand traces the person they’ve yet to see.
“Don’t freak out, please,” the picture’s contents come into view, and although you’d asked, Ginny can’t help the small gasp that comes out of her.
Her and Hermione once again find themselves trading looks, only this time there’s a bewilderment on both their faces. Hermione’s face suddenly turning red as she starts, “… Z-Zabini. You mean to tell us you’re dating Blaise Zabini….” Her voice trails off at the end.
To in shock of the image of Blaise wrapped up next to you, so oblivious in his need to look at you, you’re the only one to catch the picture in progress, they only hear the smack of your face making contact with your hands.
It’s not a violent move and yet, it’s suddenness makes you all look at one another and giggle- rather hysterically if other members of the household were to pass by the room at that moment. And giggle and giggle you do as you start to nod your head at Hermione’s question.
And then it calms once again, only for you to open your mouth, “Well I wouldn’t say we’re dating-” Ginny cuts you off, “What?” You splutter, “I-I mean, I fancy him like a lot, like a bloody lot. And ya sure we went to the Ball together, and he gives me all these looks supposedly, and we go to Hogsmeade together,” your voice rambles on until you pause, your eyes widening as you remember the event that was your goodbye at the station. “and then there was you know when he- well when I- we kissed.”
You stare, the only reminder that time still passes on from the distant sounds of Molly taking control of the kitchen and the stomps of feet going up and down the staircase.
That is until the tidal wave of Hermione’s and Ginny’s voices hit you, as they process your final words, “How can you two not be dating?” “When did this start?” “Actually, when did you even become friends?” “Tell us everything-” “YES. EVERYTHING.”
In the back of your mind, a voice- a distinctly deeper one than your own- resonated: did you really have to tell them?

The words advertising Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad echoed through your mind as you sat in the classroom waiting for Blaise. He’s now, you check the time again, 15 minutes late and your worry is turning into annoyance. The sigh that escapes you fills the room’s silence just for a second, your eyes tempted to check the time a second time even though nothing has changed.
You’re tired. So tired. But Blaise had practically begged for the two of you to meet and you couldn’t say no. Especially with the way he eyed the bandage wrapped around your hand any chance he could get.
You finally couldn’t stop yourself as you check the time once more. It has now been 20 minutes that you’ve waited for Blaise to appear at the door. 20 minutes. It’s not past curfew just yet, but it’s close- too close- so with one more check of the time, you grab your things and head to the door.
If only you’d waited just a little bit longer, paused for just a second more at the end of the hallway, you would have heard the rush of his steps, his name calling out to you as he opened the door. As your head hits your pillow you can only think, God I’m tired.
•••
You realized that the scar on your hand was finally close to disappearing as you and Ginny focus on another one of Potter’s lessons.
“I’m happy it’s no longer showing,” Ginny grabs hold of your wrist as her fingers search for the bump of the words that used to be there.
You smile at her tenderness, “I am too,” you pause, “means he won’t ask anymore questions.”
Both of you check to make sure everyone else in the room is too busy practicing to care about your conversation, “How’s that going?”
You bite your lip as you contemplate her question before another voice- no two voices- join the conversation, “How’s what going?”
Nobody else is sure who the shriek comes from, but for sure you and Ginny are not gonna be able to continue your conversation. Ginny glares at her older brothers, “It’s nothing you need to worry about.”
The twins look at you and then her, before backing up slowly when Ginny’s wand is pointed in their direction. “Alright, alright,” one starts, “We’ll leave you two alone.”
Harry has wrangled most of the room’s attention but something about the continued stares stops you all together. Ginny’s hand rests on your shoulder, “We can talk tonight.”
You shake your head out of your stupor, “Maybe,” you whisper, “I might finally be seeing him later.” There’s a pause, “I’ll write to you.”
Ginny nods as the lesson finally comes to an end. And yet, you force yourself to leave the room as nonchalantly as possible. Running means attention and you don’t want that at the moment. You’re late, you know you’re late, and for once you can’t come up with a viable excuse. You can only hope that Blaise will accept your apology.
“Darling,” you call out as you peak behind the door, grateful to see that Blaise is pacing the length of the room.
He continues back and forth, his hands tightly wound into fists, as his brain seems to run on full speed.
You walk further into the room, “Darling?” No response, “Darling?” His pacing continues, his steps becoming louder.
“Blaise?” He finally looks at you, “Blaise? What’s going on?”
His eyes are clouded with an emotion that you don’t recognize as he looks over your form. And yet, it reminds you so much of your first meeting at the start of the year, you don’t want to remember but it filters into your mind.
You take a step into the room, happy yet also sad when he doesn’t move from his spot. His feet now fully grounded into the floor below him.
“Blaise?” the whisper of his name curls around him as he tries to make the tension in his body not as obvious. He can’t help it when he looks down at the floor, painfully obvious in the way he ignores meeting your eyes.
You want to ask more, say more, but Blaise has not always responded well to prodding so you wait there, hoping he will finally look at you.
His words are sharp, “Who is it?”
Your head tilts slightly, “Who’s what?” You take a small step forward, “Blaise, I’m really confused about whatever is going on right now.”
“Who is it that you’re seeing?”
You want to laugh, you do, but Blaise is shaking, he is shaking in a way that you know is because he’s trying to control himself- his anger.
“I’m seeing you,” your voice wavers, “Why do you think otherwise?”
“No.” The trembling has stopped. “No. You weren’t here the other night-” “Well, you were late and I was really tired Blaise, we knew it wasn’t-” “You’re bloody seeing someone, I know it.” “No. I’m not.” “I don’t believe you.”
You’re chest to chest now, his eyes cold and staring not at you but past you. You’re sure he can hear the way your heart is beating in your chest, and you definitely hear his.
You breathe in, then out. “I’m not cheating on you, and quite frankly I don’t know why you believe that.”
His voice has quieted down, at this point you almost have to read his lips to understand, “So, where is it that you go ‘cause it’s not here with me?”
“I do have other friends,” his head shakes and yet you continue on, “and where exactly do you get off accusing me of cheating?”
Your anger starts to build up, “Cause I’m not the only one who’s missed dates. Who’s shown up late. So, do you want me to ask you the same thing-”
“I was busy.”
“Oh, so you’re busy and I’m cheating. Good to know that’s how you view things.”
You’ve somehow already grabbed your bag, one hand on the door handle when he reaches out to you. Your wand sends a minor curse next to his feet. Any anger that you held has fully turned into something else- embarrassment or guilt or dread- you’re not sure which.
Your heart still pounds, “I’m sorry. I don’t- I’m sorry.” And then you’re gone.
Blaise stares down at the stain on the floor from your curse, and then at the door. He paces the length of the classroom once again.

You snuggle further into the red covers as Hermione, Ginny, and you share the food you sneaked out of the kitchen. It’s not that late, as everyone else in the castle is enjoying their dinner in the Hall. But after considering what was meant to be your main topic of discussion, you agreed it was safest to stay hidden in one of the dorms… and out of the three of you, you were definitely the best at sneaking around the castle.
“So,” you munch on another one of the chips that you’d stolen off of Ginny’s plate, “they are okay with Harry teaching them Defense Against the Dark Arts?”
Hermione nods her head, “At first, they wanted to talk about the rumors, but honestly I think them hearing our adventures from the last couple of years and seeing Harry’s frustration made them realize just how real this is.”
Your fingers reach out for another chip only for Ginny to lightly slap your hand away, “At least, we’ve got a good group of people, and you’re gonna join right?”
“Of course,” you nod, looking at the two girls, “If it weren’t for my thing with Blaise I would have shown up too…”
Ginny’s famously devilish smile appears on her face, “So…” she starts slowly, “things are going well then?”
You can’t stop the warmth you feel creeping up your body, a small smile settling as you reminisce on the day’s events, “It is, honestly, I think he was actually a little bummed we weren’t gonna be able to have dinner together.”
Hermione scoffs, “With Umbridge crawling around I don’t think that would be a safe move, although maybe the fact that Blaise is a Slytherin will protect you a bit more.”
You shake your head, “God no, I swear the witch has it out for any of us associated with Harry… and while my connection may not be as obvious I’m pretty sure the higher ups in the Ministry now about it.”
“Still,” Ginny continues, “are you gonna tell us anything about this date?”
Your fingers messily grab a handful of Ginny’s chips as you shuffle off the bed and away from her grasp, laughing as you do, “I don’t kiss and tell.”
“Ha! So something did happen.”
All that’s heard is the crunch of the chip as you throw another one in your mouth, the smile on your face making it hard to contain the food you consume.
•••
The sun rose on what is supposed to be a nice start to the winter season, but the only thing you can do is groan at the thought of dealing with another one of Umbridge’s rules. She clearly thought something was going on with Harry’s little group as if that ban on social clubs couldn’t be clearer. And yet, you all had succeeded in sneaking up to the Room of Requirement for your lessons- well for the most part, not excluding the times you’d have to make another excuse and leave Blaise all to his lonesome.
You sighed, today was gonna be one of those days.
•••
Blaise led you to one of the less well-known empty classrooms, looking back ever so often to make sure you were still with him, even though your hand was still very much embraced in his.
“What’s up with you today?” You ask softly as Blaise pushes you back against the just closed door, crowding his body with yours.
Your hands wrap around his neck, the space between you definitely practically nonexistent, “Nothing,” he growls softly, “Nothing’s going on.”
You lift his head up from where it’s been hiding in the crook of your neck, finally catching his eyes with yours, “Ya right,” you smile, “Not that I mind all of this, but still-”
His lips cut you off. One, two short kisses, and then a third, “It’s nothing.”
“Ok,” you mouth as your lips find his, “It’s nothing.”
You know it’s not nothing, but you can’t help it, not when it’s clear that Blaise is desperate for your touch. The way his lips consume yours, before following the lines of your face and then down your neck, his hands tracing up and down your body before one settles on the low of your back and the other at your thigh, doing everything to just keep you there.
That’s all he wants today, is just to keep you with him, feel the way your body connects with his. You can feel the coin that Hermione made burning in your pocket, calling you to the RoR, but not today. No, not when Blaise has rested his face in your chest, practically clinging to your body at this point.
Your deep breaths fill the room, as your fingers run through Blaise’s hair, the underlying anxiety in his body slowly melting away as he pushes his weight into you.
“Blaise?” You wait for a response, “Blaise?” You feel the soft grunt on your chest, “This door is starting to get a bit uncomfortable.”
Suddenly, he’s standing up at full height, your body going with him as he turns around and settles you down on a desk, your hands tight wrapping around his neck as you try not to fall, “Blaise!”
“I wasn’t going to let you fall, love,” his body crowds yours.
You nod, a small giggle escaping you as the softness Blaise only holds for you is on full display for you.
“I know,” your hands drift to cup his face, “I know. Just give me a warning next time, alright.”
The kisses are slow now, delicate even. Blaise’s arms wrapped around you, his hands stretched out on the desk to stop you from tipping back too much.
And then he’s on the other side of the room. The grimace on your face automatically shows as the pink abomination appears in your periphery.
“Well, well,” the tap of her heels breaking the soft moment, “20 points from each of you.” Her eyes clearly taking in the colors of your uniforms before steeling on your face as she speaks, “and detention for you, tonight.”
Blaise’s shock is only apparent to you as his mouth begins to open. The sharp shake of your head is the only thing that stops him as the tapping recedes from the room.
Your moment officially broken, you start to grab your things, Blaise merely looking on.
“Come on,” you nod your head to the door, “don’t want to give her anymore reason to take points.”
Blaise comes to his senses, grabbing your hand harshly before you even make it past the doorway, “Love, what was that about?”
You turn to him, trying your hardest to keep some distance in case Umbridge returns, “What was what about?”
“That,” his eyes search yours wildly for something, “That thing with Professor Umbridge.”
You shake your head, checking to make sure the hallway is empty before leaning up to give Blaise a quick bit deep kiss, “It was nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
You walk off without him, knowing his eyes are still following your figure as you round the corner on your way to the kitchens. He is not going to give this up now, of that you’re certain.
•••
Umbridge’s detentions had already become known around the castle. Hermione warned all of the DA members of the dangers of her blood quill, as everyone promised to stick to the shadows. And yet, what scared you the most as you walked into her office wasn’t the desk with the paper and quill waiting for you, but the smile on her face as she stalked you.
“Now,” her voice pierced your ears, “It’s important for you to understand your place. There are certain customs for those who belong to the top, and you clearly do not know them.”
Customs? You stop yourself from rolling your eyes at her as Umbridge continues on.
“So, for today I want you to write, I do not belong. For as long as the message starts to sink in.”
The anger inside you starts to boil as you process your words, but all you do is nod as she once again smiles at you and tut tuts, “Start now.”
You nod, as you grip the quill in your hands, the words slowly forming on your hand as you continue writing the lines down the page. The small grunt of pain escapes you, the only response that prompts her to lean down forcing you to look her directly in the eye.
“Anything the matter?” You shake your head, “That’s right, because deep down you know you deserve to be punished. Don’t you?”
As you walk out of her office, you decide it’s not so much the weapons of pain that she uses to enact her punishment that makes her so evil. No, it’s the words she chooses to etch onto your skin.
Here’s part 3 of my still unnamed blaise zabini x f!reader series.
Part 2 is here
tagging some of my moots in case they want to read it: @booksmusicteaandanimals @cregan-starks @witch-and-a-half and as always thank you to my bestie who just read this draft over for me, and helping me make decisions
The room was stiffly quiet as you settled into the chair across from Blaise. As like all your previous meetings in the Room of Requirement, the room had provided you with two extremely comfortable chairs and a sofa in the middle- much like the set up of both of your common rooms and typically the two of you would be cuddled up on the sofa. This was not a typical meeting, however.
It was not a typical meeting when you walked in a couple minutes early as you were prone to do, to find the room empty. It was not a typical meeting when Blaise walked in the second the clock on the wall struck 9 and settled directly into the chair without even a word leaving his lips.
His hand unintentionally grazed yours as he walked past, prompting you to head for the chair across from him, but you knew that if it was up to him he wouldn’t have let any physical contact occur between the two of you.
He looked at you. His eyes openly declaring the storm of emotions he felt for you while the rest of his body stayed silent.
“I’m sorry,” your eyes stilled on his fingers as you spoke, not able to return his gaze yet not able to keep your gaze off of him, “I’m sorry.”
“For what?” The coldness in his voice startled you, forcing you to finally look at him.
Your lips parted, the clock ticked away as you bit your bottom lip only to release it, “For everything,” you breathed deeply, “I guess.”
You were the one looking at him now as his gaze turned downward to his own hands, particularly to the ring he had subconsciously started to play with. You saw the way his adams apple moved as he mulled on your words.
“When you mean everything-” there was a crack in his voice, the only other sign that you knew he was just as apprehensive about this conversation as you were.
You shook your head automatically even though he still wasn’t looking at you, “No, no… not us. Just…”
The silence stilled between you once again. He still hadn’t looked up at you. You couldn’t help yourself, you were on autopilot as you moved to the edge of the sofa closest to him, your hand slowly making its way into his view.
His hands retracted to his body as his eyes finally met yours, his lips turned into a snarl. He was hurt, you knew that of course, but something about his refusal of your touch broke the last piece of you.
You hadn’t felt the tears running down your face, not until Blaise’s cold fingers hovered over your face. You couldn’t stop the sad smile that formed as you forced your fingers to take over from him. He knew he’d caused your tears, he hadn’t meant to but he did, and he wanted to be the one to stop them, but he let you cup your fingers to your face as you composed yourself.
He never did like seeing you cry.
A sniffle emerged from you and then your muffled voice, “I’m sorry, for what happened this summer.”
He remained silent, watching as your face ever so slowly returned to his view. A cautious smile formed, hoping you’d continue.
You seemed to be calculating your words as you continued on, “I wasn’t in a position where I could send you any letters. I’d hoped I could at least send you one at the beginning- my mum had mentioned where’d we be staying since before we got on the train. But, well, I just wasn’t able to. I don’t mean this as an excuse just an explanation because I am still so sorry.”
You watched him. You watched as he contemplated your words.
•••
As the brisk fall air turned to the chilly snow, you found your smile growing larger each time your eyes met Blaise’s. Your relationship strengthened with every hand graze and every dinner date… even if you weren’t calling them dates. Yet, when Blaise appeared that night with a nervousness surrounding him, you couldn’t help but question if this was it.
“Everything okay?” You forced yourself to smile as Blaise brought you into one of his hugs.
He nodded as his arms tightened around you just ever so slightly before pulling away completely, “Everything’s fine.”
You settle back down onto the sofa, using the contact of Blaise’s hands in yours as a way to soothe your beating heart. He says everything is fine so everything is fine.
The night goes on in it’s your usual fashion, the two of you discussing your day- you complaining about Umbridge as much as can be done without bringing down the mood entirely, him talking about his Quidditch practice and the upcoming game in a few weeks. You let the routine comfort you, when Blaise suddenly breaks away from it.
“What are you doing this weekend?”
Your body stilled. Weekends weren’t part of the routine just yet. Yes, he’d forgiven you, but you hadn’t made it to the weekend stage. Not when you were still trying to build up what you’d broken.
“This weekend?” The words sounded foreign against your lips.
He nodded, his eyes desperately trying to connect with yours as you looked in every direction but him.
He tried again, “Love,” your ears perked at the words, “I’d like to take you out on a date to Hogsmeade this weekend… if you don’t already have plans.”
You had plans. You knew you had plans. Hermione had told you about the plan to meet various students at Hogs Head to discuss Umbridge and her lack of teaching. You were expected to be amongst the crowd. You looked at Blaise and nodded, “I’d love to go on a date.”
The smile remained etched on your face as you snuggled into bed that night, your first proper date with Blaise. That was a good sign. You knew Hermione would understand.
•••
“I am sorry I won’t be able to make it,” you drifted between looking at Hermione as you spoke and watching the other students as they reached the entrance of the castle.
She nodded as she took in your anxious state, “It’s alright. If you want we can meet up tonight, Ginny and I will tell you how it went.” Her hand reached out to grab yours and gave it a tight squeeze, “You excited?”
Your whole body seemed to tingle at her question, “I think I understand the whole butterflies in your stomach thing now.”
Her mouth opens once more but before she can even pose her question, the crunching of snow close by causes you to turn your heads. A slight disappointment grows when you realize it’s only Harry and Ron finally ready for the trio’s outing to the village. Until you see the flash of a dark green scarf behind them, hovering at the doorway.
You don’t even bother saying goodbye to Hermione, merely leaving her with a nod and another hand squeeze as you hurry over to meet Blaise. You can hear the three Gryffindors retreating away from you but there’s really nothing else on your mind as you greet Blaise with a hug, and surprisingly a kiss on the cheek.
It’s a quick movement, the only evidence it occurred being the same quickness with which you step away. But Blaise is just as quick as his arms tighten around you, savoring the moment for as long as both of you want.
You haven’t even left the grounds and yet you know that this date is off to a wonderful start.

You first met Blaise Zabini when he happened to stumble upon you as you sat under the tree near the Black Lake in your first year. Hogwarts and the idea of magic was all new to you and you found yourself becoming rather overwhelmed so you would go to that spot near the lake and listen to music, or read, or write with one of your muggle pens. At some point though it was no longer your spot, instead it became yours and Blaises spot. And that spot saw a lot of things happen over the years.
YEAR 1
“What is that thing you’ve been carrying around with you all day?” Blaise broke the silence between the two of you.
You looked up at him to see him motioning towards the Walkman in your lap, “Oh, this is a Walkman. It’s a muggle invention that helps you listen to music as you walk around.”
“How do you listen to it though?” Blaise peered at the thing inquisitively.
You pulled your headphones off and handed them to Blaise, watching as he slowly reached out and grabbed it only to hold it in his hands wondering what to do, “Here let me help you with that.”
Blaise watched as you shuffled over to him tentatively, still leaving enough space for him to back away. Then you grabbed the headphones and placed them on his head softly.
“There you go,” you whispered, and then looked down at the Walkman to make sure a new song played. You definitely liked how Blaise seemed to smile while he listened- of course you were never going to tell him that.
YEAR 2
You walked over to your spot under the tree only to find Blaise already sitting there. You knew that he saw you before you’d arrived by the tilt in his head and the small smile on his face.
“Hello Blaise,” you smiled softly and plopped yourself down on the grass next to him.
He nodded towards you, “Hello Y/L/N,” and then returned to the book that he was reading.
By now, knowing that this was his sign that he didn’t want to talk, you pulled out your homework and worked on bits and pieces until you were done. Then you pulled out the famous Walkman that the two of you practically shared and instead of connecting your headphones in, you played it out loud for the two of you to enjoy.
It seemed as though one song in particular had caught Blaise’s attention as he closed his book and laid it next to him, “What song is that one?”
“Hm,” you opened your eyes and looked towards him, “It’s Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles.”
Blaise nodded his head and as the cassette tape started over again, you saw how his eyes closed and he drifted off to sleep. Some time later, it seems as though you had also fallen asleep and when you woke up you found yourself wrapped up comfortably in Blaise’s arm. While you wished to stay there for as long as you could, you knew that Blaise wouldn’t so slowly and softly you removed Blaise’s arm from your waist and packed up your stuff.
As you left you could have sworn you heard a Goodbye be muttered from Blaise’s lips, but you weren’t entirely sure.
YEAR 3
During your third year, you finally had the freedom to go to Hogsmeade and while you found it nice you definitely preferred your spot under the tree. Blaise, on the other hand, didn’t. Sometimes you wondered if it was from that day the two of you had fallen asleep or the fact that you hadn’t been able to write over the summer, but you felt as though Blaise had become rather distant. No matter, you thought to yourself, it’s not like it was officially our spot anyway.
Nonetheless you would still try your hardest to catch him there from time to time. Only to be greeted by his very cold demeanor… most of the time at least, today- it seemed- you were lucky.
“Hello Y/N,” Blaise greeted you softly. It was now spring so the grass was mostly wet and the air rather warm, but it was a climate you enjoyed the most.
You smiled and waved at him, “Nice seeing you around here Blaise.”
“It has been awhile,” he sat down close to you, closer than usual, “I’m sorry about that.”
You looked at him shell shocked, “Did the Blaise Zabini just apologize?”
“I thought Hufflepuffs weren’t supposed to have that type of attitude,” he chuckled.
You bobbed his nose with your finger, “I think that you should have learned by now that we Puffs can have one hell of an attitude.”
“Ya, I guess you can,” he smiled brightly at you as if he knew something that you didn’t.
YEAR 4
“Someone looks tired,” you heard Blaise’s snarky remark before you saw him.
Not even bothering to say hello, you practically dropped to the ground hoping to find at least some form of comfort, “I am! And I couldn’t even find anything that works.”
Blaise placed the book that he was reading and then turned to you, “What are you talking about?”
“Ugh, only because I know you’ll pester me until I tell you,” you moved your body so that you could sit up and face Blaise, using the tree for support, “A bunch of girls in our year went shopping for their dresses and I decided to join them. Of course, the one dress that I absolutely loved cost way too much since I’d have to get all these alterations done. And since I had found it early on, I figured I’d go find Hermione or Ginny to get a Butterbeer only to be told that if I left the other girls that they would see me as a bitch.”
You hadn’t even realized that you were crying until you felt Blaise’s hands cupping your cheeks, his thumbs wiping away the tears. The two of you sat there in tranquility until that happened to be destroyed by the one and only Zacharias Smith.
“Y/N,” you could feel the arrogance radiating off of him, “there you are. I was wondering if you’ve thought of a response to my proposition.”
He clearly ignored Blaise sitting next to you, his arm now wrapped around your waist.
“I already told you Smith,” frustration dripping from every word, “I’m not gonna go to the Ball with you… so please leave me alone.”
Before either boy could react, you stood up and stomped back to the castle, not before you purposely rammed Smith in the shoulder knowing he would turn around at you only to see a middle finger instead of your face.
YEAR 5
It seemed as though this year, Blaise and you had both decided to go to your spot the first day back. The arrival of the pink toad- excuse me, Umbit… no Umbridge- felt like the end of the world. And you knew that the end of the world was coming, as you had stayed with the Weasleys the whole summer. When you saw Blaise, you found yourself having a new feeling in your body, as if everything just glowed when he was around. But when he saw you, all he saw was bright, fiery red- who could blame him though, you had promised to write, even to try and visit, but he didn’t get a single letter from you.
“I thought Hufflepuffs were supposed to be loyal,” he scoffed at the sight of you.
You frowned and crossed your arms, “Of course, I’m loyal. I wouldn’t have been your friend all these years if I wasn’t.”
“Really because you told me that you’d write that we’d talk about what happened last year and you didn’t even send me a scrap of paper,” the tenseness in Blaise’s body kept on getting worse and worse as he spoke.
You faltered when you finally saw the pain within his eyes, “I-” you hesitated, “I’m sorry. I wish I could give you a good reason as to why I didn’t write but please just trust me when I tell you that if I could have, I would have.”
“Like that is supposed to help,” he crossed his arms in front of you. “I mean, how can you tell someone you love them right after you kiss them and then not even bother to write.”
Blaise’s voice was starting to strain and you no longer just saw his pain, you heard it too, “I love you too much to lie and give you some bullshit excuse and you and I both know that I can’t tell you the truth.”
You slowly walked over to Blaise and when you reached him, you held your hands up in surrender, “Can I touch you?” you whispered.
He nodded and your hands came to cup his face and wipe away the tears, much like he had done for you the year prior. Then he was the one to act, he grabbed you by your wrists and instead of pulling you away as you thought, he brought each of your palms to his mouth and kissed them. You couldn’t help but step even closer to Blaise, his arms then dropped only to wrap around your waist.
The two of you looked at one another and slowly leaned in not even realizing your movements until your noses touched. Blaise leaned in even more so that his forehead touched yours, “Can I kiss you?”
“Yes,” you whispered. Blaise’s lips meet yours and you felt a whirlwind of emotion the second it did.
At first you felt his frustration from earlier, but then he relaxed and you felt his love and passion for you. Neither of you wanted to stop yet when you felt your lungs screaming for air you broke away, only to see his lips chase yours.
You chuckled at the action, “Let me catch my breath first.”
Blaise was shocked at how he reacted and wasn’t able to stop the slight blush that grew on his cheeks, “I’d like to be your boyfriend… that is if you want me to be.”
You giggled a bit at the way he asked and then pecked his lips softly, “I’d love it if you were my boyfriend.”
YEAR 6
You wish you could say that the last year with Blaise had been filled with just love and tender moments between the two of you, but after watching Sirius Black get murdered at the Department of Ministries, you knew you could no longer play pretend. You loved Blaise, you loved him in such a way that you had never loved anyone, but you knew the danger that came with being with him, especially because of your blood status. You’d already sent your parents away, obliviating their memories of you before making them believe that they should go to live in the U.S. and then going to stay with the Weasleys. Standing in your spot, you fretted over how to tell him so much that you hadn’t even realized he had arrived.
“Hello mi principesa,” he wrapped you up in a hug and gave you a loving kiss on your forehead.
His action brought you out of your head, “Oh, hi Blaise.”
“You alright mi principesa?” he backed away slightly so that he could get a good look at you having learned over the years the little traits you showed when you were nervous.
You merely nodded your head not trusting your voice in that moment. Your eyes went down to your hands, which were playing with one another, and then out to the Lake knowing that the second you looked at Blaise everything would break.
He knew what you were doing and yet he struggled to know why, not a single idea came to mind. Blaise didn’t enjoy seeing you like this, it pained him when you kept everything in. Slowly, so as to not startle you, he grabbed one of your hands and pulled it to his chest, “Please tell me what’s going through that beautiful head of yours.”
“You know,” you started, “the memories I have with you, are the best memories that I have. Not even my memories of getting my letter, being introduced to this world, sharing it with my parents, getting into Hufflepuff… none of those are my best memories. Which is why I need to keep it that way.”
Blaise could tell which way the conversation was going and if only you could know how badly he didn’t want it to continue, but he also knew you needed this so he squeezed your hand as a signal to continue.
“I can’t stay-” your voice started to break, “I can’t stay here, and I can’t stay with you.”
Blaise shook his head, “No. no. no. We’ll figure this out, maybe I can get my mother to help you into hiding.”
The tears that had grown in your eyes started to fall, “Baby, you know I can’t do this. The Order has asked that I watch over some people for them, but I need you to let me go.”
“What if I don’t want to?” Blaise had started crying too, “What if I just want to keep you here with me? I need you mi principesa.”
Hearing those last words only made your tears worse, “Please, Blaise…” you were practically begging at this point, “I need you to let me go, at least until this is all over okay. I’ll come find you right here, and I’ll wait for you in this very spot. I promise”
Blaise didn’t know if it was the fact that you were begging or the fact that you had promised to come back to him, but something in him let you go. He opened his eyes, the tears coming to a slow stop to see you looking just as wrecked in front of him, “Can I at least get one last kiss?”
You practically flung yourself at him after that question. If you had considered your first kiss to be passionate this one was even more so. The two of you poured everything you felt for each other and for the situation in front of you: all the pain, desperation, sadness, hurt, frustration, concern, devotion, adoration. It practically burned you and Blaise, but you didn’t care. You needed to burn just one more time before you drowned in what was to come.
YEAR 7
Standing in front of the Great Hall, your heart broke into a million pieces. So many people died or hurt, and you weren’t sure how to feel. You had spent the whole year running that you didn’t exactly have the time to think, to feel. And now that you did, you weren’t entirely sure how to feel. You should feel happy that you won, happy that you were alive. But how could you feel that when Fred, Remus, and Tonks and so many others all lost their lives in this fight. And Blaise, you didn’t even know if he was here anymore. Hermione had told you about how they had run into him, how he asked about you but ran off when he found out they didn’t know anything.
Your spot, finally you remembered that if he would be anywhere it would be there. You rushed out of the Great Hall trying your hardest not to run into any person or any of the fallen pillars, not even realizing when Prof. McGonagall and Prof. Sprout gave you a knowing look. The two of them having done what they could to keep Blaise alive. When you finally made it, it was if you were looking at heaven. There he was, the love of your life, and from what you could tell he didn’t have a scratch on him.
“Blaise,” you ran down the hill jumping into his arms not even hesitating.
He wasn’t sure how to react when he heard your voice, but holding you in his arms he finally knew that everything would be okay, “mi principesa,” he mumbled over and over.
The two of you stayed in each other’s arms for what seemed like forever, only moving slightly when you pulled his face down to yours so as to kiss him. While your goodbye kiss had been fervent and messy, this one was graceful and slow. You knew you had all the time in the world now, nonetheless you were gonna enjoy the hell out of this kiss. It’s as if you were exploring each other’s bodies for the first time, not being able to keep your hands off one another but in a way that said more I need to make sure you are here with me and less of a I need you to fuck me. When you finally separated, your foreheads stayed connected and at some point you found your hand roaming Blaise’s chest until it found his heart and that’s where it stayed.
“I told you I’d come back,” you whispered, “and… if you’ll have me, I plan on staying.”
“Stay, please. And let me follow you this time, wherever you go.”
“Ok, I will.”
The two of you went silent and merely basked in each other’s embrace, waiting your longest to let go, knowing that that would start the next phase of your lives. Cause in that very moment all you wanted- no needed- was Blaise with you in your spot under that tree.

should I do a separate fic of their wedding or Blaise proposing at their spot?
When you and Blaise first started seeing each other you learned that he really was a person of little words and when he does speak he thinks carefully about what words he uses. So even though he hadn’t said I love you you knew he still did. It’s hard explaining it to your friends, they always wonder how do you know though, but you just do.
Maybe it’s the little things that he always did, like the way he made sure to always grab your hand when you walked around together, or how he always looked for your opinion on whatever was being discussed, but that doesn’t mean that you still had your doubts.
At least, you did until just now because standing outside your office, dressed to perfection, was Blaise Zabini with an umbrella. For those of you that don’t understand, Blaise Zabini cannot stand the rain and he will do everything he can to avoid being under it, even if he has an umbrella. So seeing him standing there, his eyes lighting up the second they landed on you, you knew he was saying I love you.

Holding their hands when they are shaking
Blaise learned early on in your relationship that you loved affection. You weren’t big on snogging, but you loved being held or holding him, something about how it made you feel safe and secure. He grounded you just as you grounded him. Only there were times when he wondered if he wasn’t enough for you. I mean you hadn’t even said that you loved him and while he may be a man of little words you weren’t, which is what he appreciated.
One night though as he laid in bed next to you, he went to sleep only to find that he hadn’t escaped the demons that bothered him during the day. He started to shake, so consumed by the thoughts running through his head, he hadn’t recognized that you were awake calling his name. When his eyes opened, the first thing they saw was you sitting over them whispering his name softly. There seemed to be a light that glowed around you, making you seem like an angel and for some reason, his mind didn’t want to ruin that.
He sat up with his back turned to you, his head in his hands as he tried to slow everything down. Your heart broke when you woke up to see him shaking, but it broke even more seeing him avoid your touch. You knew what it was, he’d mentioned his demons to you before. Yet, you needed him to know that he was enough, not just that, that he was more than enough.
You crawled over the sheets and sat behind him. First, your hands touched his shoulders, waiting until he relaxed under their touch. Then, your hands roamed down his arms until they reached his hands. When they did, you opened his hands up and intertwined each of your fingers in his. No words were shared between the two of you, but Blaise knew. He knew then everything you were saying to him. The two of you stayed there even after the demons went away, with your arms wrapped around his body, his hands clinging to yours. Occasionally you would kiss his shoulder or the back of his neck, just as a reminder that you were there. When he was ready Blaise made the first move, turning around to help you back into bed. He watched you, making sure you fell asleep, and right before you succumbed to the dream world you swore you heard the words I love you.
You meet after the war, surprisingly through Draco Malfoy... well not really when you think about it, you are Astoria’s best friend since Hogwarts even though you were a Puff
The two of you are still incredibly close so you were one of the first people that she introduces Draco to
It takes a while but the two of you click as well and at some point he decides he wants to set you up with a friend of his
You were pretty shocked when you find out it’s Blaise Zabini, just because he had a certain reputation as a “sex god” when in reality he wasn’t like that
Turns out he had mentioned to Draco one time that he was struggling finding someone to be in a relationship with since all the women he meets only want him physically and it really hurts him
That’s where you come in... you opened up to Draco about being asexual and the two of you definitely talked about what it means and the spectrum (after that Draco says that he feels like he is demisexual since the only person he’s ever had a sexual attraction to is his wife- anyway back to the story)
Since you value a person’s personality above all else, Draco was like “Blaise I’ve found a woman who won’t look at you just for sex”
You are a bit very nervous to meet Blaise but once you do there is no turning back
The two of you talk about your dreams, your fears, your passions, your regrets basically everything and anything
You actually end up being kicked out of the restaurant because they needed to close yet neither of you wanted to stop so you end up walking around a bit until you find a 24-hr diner and stay there.
Neither of you realize how long it’s been until Draco shows up because it’s 3 in the morning and Astoria was starting to freak out since you hadn’t contacted her
Of course you are both so tired and you might have add some alcohol that Draco declares (in his professional medical opinion) that you are both crashing over at the manor for the rest of the night
Turns out you both have guest rooms that you had unintentionally claimed as your own and they happen to be next door to one another
Still after everything you want to spend time with him, and for the very first time Blaise gets in bed with a woman only to talk and he really enjoys it
You just so happen to end up falling asleep in his arms, and when he wakes up the next day instead of escaping to his room he decides to stay with you which leads to you seeing how adorable Blaise is in the mornings
“Good morning,” you yawned out as you blinked your eyes a couple times adjusting to the light, “it’s nice seeing you still here”
Blaise smiled and blushed lightly at your statement, “well why wouldn’t I be here” then he grabbed you and pulled you closer into his body hiding his face in your neck
Realizing what he had done though (and remembering Draco explain asexuality to him- you were totally okay with him doing this btw) he backed away slightly, “sorry was that okay? I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable”
You merely brought your hands up to his face and returned his head to its original position
The two of you stayed there ‘til rather late in the morning when Astoria finally decided to drag you out of bed
She was a bit surprised seeing the two of you wrapped up in each other’s arms but seeing how relaxed you were she was happy, “Come on you lovebirds, you need to eat.”
It didn’t take long for the two of you being together to become a common sight at the Malfoy Manor, I mean Blaise wanted to take this slow so it took awhile for him to even be open to the idea of going to your flat
At some point he even moved his stuff out of his guest room and into yours, which you were more than okay with
And I just realized that this became way longer than I was planning it to be but whateverrrrrr
