the show starts with bellamy being described as a “self-serving jackass who doesn’t care about anyone but himself”, then you find out he sacrificed his entire childhood to raise his sister and lived in constant fear that she could, at any time, get caught, had to watch his mother die for the crime of having another child, became a parental figure to his sister when he was still a kid himself, was willing to die in order to keep her safe, willingly put his life at risk and joined a suicide mission just to keep an eye on her, stayed by her side through everything even when she insisted she didn’t need him, became a leader and protector for everyone around him and spent the whole story desperately trying to keep the people he cared about alive.
