Rule 4: Let them know once you’ve tagged them.
I got tagged three times oh my god. Okay.
1. Favorite candy
Oh God. Okay. Um. Probably has to be lemon heads. Funny story on that, actually. A couple years ago, my friend and I were shopping for last minute Halloween candy. I spotted a bulk package of lemon heads and got really excited, although I didn’t have money to buy it. The next day, I woke up and found the 5 pound back sitting on my front steps. Best friend ever.
2. Favorite place to travel in town and why
Probably to the park right across the road. It’s been my sanctuary forever, and I love swinging. Kind of boring, I know, but that’s how it is.
3. The first thing you remember of your life.
The first clear memory I have is of an ice storm. We didn’t have any power, and my brother was too little to be able to grab icicles, even though he really wanted one. I remember picking them off the porch steps for him and bringing them inside for him to eat.
4. One thing you’d tell your ten year old self.
Don’t be in such a hurry to grow up so fast. It’s not as nice as adults make it seem.
5. Favorite veggie and why
Potatoes. I’m kind of obsessed with them, actually, because you can do just about anything with them. And I love them in all kinds of ways – mashed, baked, boiled, diced, sliced… Mmm… Okay this made me hungry…
6. Favorite tea (or coffee)
Earl Grey. Yes. I’m a European snob.
7. Favorite cartoon
Sailor Moon, without a doubt. Yes, I haven’t grown up. But it’s the first cartoon I remember watching, and I’d bully my siblings into playing it with me. Plus, I related to Serena/Usagi a lot – blonde ditzy crybaby and all. It holds fond memories, and I still watch it every now and again.
8. if you could time travel to one era in history, when would it be and what would you do?
Oh this is a hard one. DAMN YOU KRIS. Honestly, it’d probably be Tudor England. I’m constantly fascinated by that time, and I’d like to talk to Mary and Elizabeth, to see what it was like through their eyes. That time was tense for all parties involved, and I’d really like to see what was going through Mary’s head when she was interrogating Elizabeth. Or even when Elizabeth was mulling over beheading Mary, Queen of Scots.
9. favorite character, any fandom, and why
By far, it’s Kurt Hummel, from Glee. Coming from an LGBT member myself, it’s nice seeing some representation on screen. I admire the way Kurt is still himself – with flaws and struggles – but he’s very strong, especially for a teenager. Plus, he’s adorable and makes me laugh. And cry.
10. a song that conjures up a fantastic memory, and the memory attached.
Maybe this is cheating, but Rhiannon from Fleetwood Mac is the song I’d pick. My mom named me after the song, and I grew up hearing it so much that I can probably quote it perfectly in my sleep. It’s not really a fantastic memory, but when I was in junior high, my drama teacher would sing it every day when calling out attendance. One day I was gone for two weeks after getting pneumonia and mono (which sucks, by the way, don’t do it) and when I came back, the entire class sang it to me. I cried. I blame the medicine.
11. the meaning of your url.
It literally has no meaning. It just sounded cute? Shallow, I know.
