Whumpril 28 - Sobbing Uncontrollably
It was a terrible enough a thing to have to endure once in a lifetime.
Twice was surely going to break her.
Whumpril 29 - I'm not giving up on you
How had he drifted so far, when had he become so distant?
When had he gotten so small?
“Is he…” Ahuska’s voice was so soft, so anxious, and a lump rose in her throat, sticking there and refusing to let her speak any more. She hardly dared to ask it in full, to say the words aloud. That would make it more real than she was willing to face.
“I believe he has been slowly dying for a very long while,” Tana’s voice was calm and measured, but not without compassion. She set a hand on Ahuska’s shoulder, warm and solid and real in every way that the little fox was not. “It is a wonder that he has hung on for so long, without the Force moving through him. If we could explain it, maybe we’d have found a way to help him long before now.”
Ahuska crouched over the little body, sleeping so deep he was barely responsive, the fill of his lungs with each tiny breath almost imperceptible.
“I’ve let him down,” Ahuska choked out, her fingers trembling as they moved over his fur. “I promised him, I promised him but I’ve barely even looked at him recently, I- I- I- took it for granted that I’d have time, that I-”
“Hush, now. While he still breathes, you still have hope. But I don’t think your answers will be found here on Tython-” the elegant Jedi Master paused, seeing the way Ahuska was focused not on her words, but on scooping up the little fox and lifting him up to huddle against her chest.
“I’m sorry,” Ahuska murmured, with a small hiccup of a sob. “I’m sorry. This is my fault, I know. I should have worked harder. I shouldn’t have let myself fall apart when- I mean, I, oh, stars. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Please hold on. Please. I’ll work this out, you’ll see. I’m not giving up on you. I’m not. I’m not.”
Whumpril 10 - Migraine
She wanted to sleep, she wanted to sleep.
Ahuska balled herself up on the ground, earth and moss and stone surrounding her, trying to breathe slowly and calmly but struggling when even the thought of movement made her feel ill.
Her head throbbed, a brutal and unyielding pain that pulsed on and on and on, and she curled her hands around the side that hurt most, tried to smother the pain with the press of her palms but found herself only whimpering and swallowing down bile.
A soft whine accompanied something wet pressing against her fingers… a nose? A tongue? And slowly, dimly, she recognised that the fox was trying to nudge her fingers away from her face, his motions gentle but frantic. “No,” she whispered with a wince. She just wanted to sleep it off. The sun was setting, but even the gentle gold streams of light she normally so adored glared painfully into her eyes when she dared crack them open. It was too much. She couldn’t go anywhere, which meant she had to stay and sleep it all off here, and when it was dark and cool and her head wasn’t pounding any more she get to the business of working out where she was and what had happened.
The fox whined again, lifting a paw to her hand and making little digging movements to try and drag it away. “I just need to sleep,” Ahuska protested, shaking her head and immediately regretting the movement, fighting back a fresh wave of nausea and stabbing pain.
The fox barked in alarm, and this time when he pressed his sleek little muzzle toward her hand, it was to bite.
OC-tober 9 - Magic/arcane magic
I remember @koboldgirl showing me the 'my hot witch wife' meme years ago hahaha, and this finally seemed like the perfect excuse to do my own version. PLUS I get a new witchy Ahuska halloween pic out of it! Question is, was the crow featured in previous years a man all along, or is she just dabbling to find out what sort of man her crow familiar would be?
OC-tober 3 - Sneaking somewhere.
(I don't know where.)
@askshivanulegacy (from when you posted this XD XD)
@askshivanulegacy submitted a very fun little stack of palette challenges so I guess I'll put them up bit by bit as I get to them! A very good girl in 'klontalresee' and a slinky little boy in 'make a stand'.
There is not enough time in all the world for me to draw everything I want with these guys but maybe, maybe some pages of sketches will help me cover a little more ground. @askshivanulegacy ty forever for building this world with me >.>
