Things I would love to see in a fic about the time leading up to and culminating in the birth of Alya Fitzsimmons, that I don’t have the mental space to write myself:
Jemma “I excel a preparation” Fitzsimmons reading every book she can download about babies and labor, and being appalled at the wide variety of contradictory information available, also giving a running commentary whenever she reads anything incorrect: “Well, that’s just wrong. They’ll let anyone write these books, won’t they?”
Fitz shaking his head at his wife’s absolute dedication to absorbing it all -- turns out it’s kind of like homework and she really does love homework, then getting all nostalgic about their Academy days
Jemma making an extensive and comprehensive list for Enoch of all the things they’ll need, from big medical equipment like an ultrasound machine and supplies for the actual birth, to just basic baby stuff
Fitz privately taking Enoch aside and cutting down the list to a manageable size, and adding pain meds, which Simmons left out on purpose, insisting it’s not as essential as the other things
Enoch confident in his ability to procure said items and Fitz telling him it will give him a chance to practice his outlaw skills, though he insists there’s no need to resort to that (my headcanon is that since he’s been on Earth for so long and spends so little he’s basically a gazillionaire)
Enoch in a baby store being helped out by a very puzzled salesperson, declaring that despite his familiarity with the process of human childbirth, he had no idea that infants required so much stuff

Both of them going through a nesting phase as they fix up the Zephyr and make it more homey
The naming conversation -- they both have a name they’ve been thinking about and agree to blurt it out on three, they say “Alya” at the same time
Jemma at 9 months -- impatient and uncomfortable and ready for it to be over -- goes back to work on DIANA to distract herself, but she gets so focused she doesn’t realize her water has broken until Fitz notices and immediately jumps into action
Jemma playing backseat driver during her own labor while Enoch plays midwife, remaining unflappable but getting in a few passive-aggressive comments here and there

Well, that was a fun exercise! It came out a lot longer than I intended. Even just putting this together has been a mental workout, so I don’t think I could write the whole thing. But somebody should. I give up all intellectual rights to anyone who wants to adopt it, or any part of it. Just let me know so I can read it. 😄
