Blankets for Lambeth 2022 (Craft Forward)

We launched Blankets for Lambeth 2022 the project on the 16th of September and we simultaneously started collecting squares and yarn. This time, we have decided to engage our participants with in person and online knitting workshops, and we managed to reach a large variety of demographics and audiences, with some participants returning from last year’s Blankets from Lambeth and with new people from the community getting involved for the first time with the project. 

From September until early January, we have collected over 560 squares and three finished blankets, resulting in a total of 19 blankets to donate to the community.

Blankets for Lambeth is a non-profit community initiative where, together with Isa Bascuñana and utilizing over 400 donated knitted and crocheted squares I assembled 14 blankets that were donated to Robes Project, helping people experiencing homelessness in Lambeth.

Part of the initiative was also delivering online workshops and talks to help people knit and crochet with me and create a community of individuals that cares, and that came together in these times of hardship to help the most vulnerable of our community through arts and craft.
