Finally gathered enough hardscape for this tank. I need to add a few smaller pieces of wood and stone, but then I can get to glueing.

I didn't feel like doing a panoramic tank with a steep buildup. Maybe I reconsider this evening.

Need to cut wood and smash more stone first.

I made a point of setting a razor and shaving cream on the counter, sliding them over to where he was eating breakfast. He put down his spoon and eyed me warily.

“What’s up, babe?”

“Hmm?”

“With the shaving cream and all?”

“Oh, I just thought you… do you already have some?” He nodded and I frowned, my theory of his beard being the result of a lack of materials sinking fast. “Oh.”

I felt him watching me as I unpacked the rest of the groceries and he waited a minute before clearing his throat.

“Can I ask you a question, love? Do you want me to shave?”

Did I? Did I want him to get rid of that patchy, scratchy, god-awful beard? The look on his face was unnerving so I just shook my head.

“If I went upstairs and just… you’d be happy?” He ran his fingers over his stubble and waited.

“Andre, if it makes you happy, then feel free to shave. If it’s what you want then, yeah, go for it.”

He stood and grabbed the can, reading the label before he sat it back down. I stilled as he leaned over the counter to kiss me.

“You hate the beard?”

“I do. I really do.”

“Was that so hard to admit?”

Since I gave my last budgie away 3 weeks ago, I am not sure if I still like him as my pic.

I had him there for so long.

It's always nice to see him.

I am glad he found a new good home with other birds. He was very sad after Oki died and I couldn't do anything to make him really happy again.

This girl (probably around 14 years old) said he looked so cute and she wanted him very much.

Her other birds are younger, but they are still playing together. She occasionally sent me a pic and I am happy I let him go. I thought this whole thing might be too stressful for a 10 year old bird, but I am happy I was wrong.

Goodbye Fu, you will be missed.
