Why are people so hung up on creek being given another chance in the tv show?

The 1 antagonist who spent most of his movie being made to suffer and had the second best reason for doing the bad thing that he did behind gristle who wanted to help himself and his people stop suffering

And who only did 1 bad thing under extreme duress is the character who people seem to get endlessly hung up on being given another chance by the peaceful forgiving pop tribe and not being punished?

I just don't understand this logic what would punishing creek accomplish? its not like he did wrong because of some bad habit like greed or anger

He did it to survive because he was thrown into a terrifying situation no normal person should ever be thrown into

So what would punishing him accomplish when he was already made to suffer by the bergens for most of the first movie and didn't do what he did out of ill will,

And why is it an issue the forgiving and peaceful pop tribe giving another chance to someone who only did something wrong in this very specific and very extreme situation

Where he technically had no choice ( Having you're life threatened to be ended immediately if you don't do something means you do not have free will )

And in which he was put through some very bad things that honestly do warrant some empathy given creek didn't do anything wrong in the first place to deserve being kidnapped and help captive and almost killed,

It seems strange to me because creek is the only antagonist besides grislte who I feel its understandable to forgive given his situation and motives

Unlike other characters like barb and crimp and veneer who get shown more empathy by the movies and fans but had way worse and more selfish motives

And worse actions in the sense that they repeatedly did wrong and they had complete free will in what they did so people having more of an issue with creek betraying his people

Because he was held captive and sort of tortured and threatened with immediate death over people like barb or veneer or crimp

Who on paper are worse in pretty much every logical way yet were also shown empathy and given second chances seems weird to me to be honest.

Like what if during the rock apocalypse Barb find Viva and the Put Put and captures them before she captures pop village like what do you think Peppy reaction would be to find her lost daughter in that situation

🎸 What If Barb Captured Viva Before Pop Village?

Okay. This ask looked innocent. It is not innocent. It's not small... With me, it's never small... How bold of you to assume that. Because I immediately opened a map of the Troll Kingdom and asked myself: "Wait... would Barb even GO to the golf course?"

🗺️ The First Problem

Barb's map doesn't show the Putt Putt Trolls, at all. Which... Makes sense, nobody knows they're there. They aren't one of the six musical kingdoms. They're literally hiding.

So unless Barb somehow discovers them... This AU never starts.

🤔 So... Why Would Barb Go There?

I don't think she'd intentionally search for Trolls there. I think she'd be searching for something else. Maybe Rock scouts notice activity. Maybe someone reports Pop Trolls living outside Pop Village. Maybe Barb simply wants to make sure there aren't any hidden settlements before the concert.

And then... She finds them.

🎸 Barb's Brain Immediately Blue Screens

Because she finds... Pop Trolls. Without... A Pop String. Imagine Barb standing there holding her guitar like: "... Where is it?" Because from her perspective... Every music tribe has a string. These Trolls... don't.

She'd probably assume they hid it. Which means... The interrogation begins.

💥 BIG Mistake

Because Barb has accidentally picked a fight with... THE PUTT PUTT TROLLS. 😭

These Trolls are absolutely ready to throw hands! Movie 3 literally proves it. Two Bergens show up? The Putt Putt Trolls don't panic: they attack immediately.

They're survivors, they've spent twenty years preparing for the day someone finds them.

So Barb doesn't walk into a helpless village. She walks into... Home Alone.

😭 Viva Is Brave...

She's protective: she won't leave the golf course. And if you threaten her people? She's absolutely fighting. We literally see that in Band Together.

So I don't think Viva would surrender. I think she'd defend the Putt Putt Trolls with everything she's got. But I do think they would be captured anyway...

🎤 Then...

The Rock Apocalypse Concert. THIS. This is where everything falls apart. Because now the concert contains people who were never supposed to be there. Not just Viva. Clay.

CLAY. 😭😭😭

Think about this from his perspective. He has spent TWENTY YEARS wondering if his baby brother was safe or even still alive. Missing him. Hoping he's okay. Then... He arrives at Barb's concert. Looks up at the stage... And sees... Branch. Completely under Barb's control. A Rock Zombie.

I actually think that would break Clay. Because Clay doesn't know what happened after BroZone broke up. He does know about Trollstice. But he doesn't know about Rosiepuff. He doesn't know why Branch became the Branch we know.

And now... The very first time he sees his little brother again... Branch doesn't even recognize him. 😭

Imagine Clay whispering... "...Branch?" ... Nothing. No smile. No hug. Nothing. Because the Rock String has him.

👑 And Peppy?

Poor.

Poor.

Peppy.

Because while everyone else is trying to stop Barb... He suddenly sees... Viva. Alive, not dead. Alive. Imagine trying to process: "My daughter is alive." while simultaneously watching "My other daughter is becoming a Rock Zombie." 😭 That is TOO MUCH for one king.

I actually don't think Peppy would freeze. I think he'd immediately start talking. Because unlike Poppy... Peppy knows exactly who he's looking at.

Imagine Barb is monologuing in the background... Completely oblivious. Meanwhile, Peppy is staring across the crowd. "...Viva?"

And Viva hears it. For the first time in twenty years... She hears her dad say her name. Imagine something like this:

👑 Peppy: "Viva..." 🌸 Viva: "...Dad?" 👑 Peppy: "You're alive..."

I don't think Peppy would start with questions. Not: "Where have you been?" Not: "Why didn't you come home?" None of that. The first thing he'd want to know is the only thing that's mattered for twenty years. "Are you alright?"

🎸 Barb Accidentally Creates The Most Awkward Family Reunion In Troll History

Nobody gets a proper reunion. Nobody gets explanations. Nobody gets closure. It's literally just:

Peppy: "VIVA?!" Viva: "DAD?!" Branch: "...." Clay: "BRANCH?!" Viva: "POPPY?" Poppy: " Viva? Clay? Who...?!" 🎸 Barb: "I AM TRYING TO END MUSICAL DIVERSITY HERE."

✨ Conclusion

I actually think the most devastating part of this AU... isn't Viva meeting Peppy. It's Clay meeting Branch. Because Clay's last memory is a tiny one-year-old waving goodbye.

The next time he sees him... He's a grown Troll. Brainwashed. Standing on Barb's stage. Not recognizing his own brother.

And I genuinely think Clay would spend the rest of the movie wondering one thing: "...What happened to you while I was gone?" 😭💙
